We love the salsa, the queso, the sopaipillas, everything! La Salita does a great job whether you dine in or get carry-out. We ordered online and our food was ready on time and packaged perfectly for the travel to our home and onto our plates.

This restaurant has been a family classic for years. The food is always hot, making you crave a glasss of their ice cold horchata. This place is comforting and warm, and makes you feel right at home. The food is delicious and feels like a meal made by your grandma after a long day of work.

Dear Management,
I am writing to report a concerning experience that occurred today at your restaurant while my co-worker and I brought several individuals from a DD Waiver (Developmental Disabilities) program for lunch.
This was our first time dining at your location. The gentleman who took our order was kind, friendly, and very patient with our individuals, which we truly appreciated. Unfortunately, our experience changed once we were seated and assisted by a waitress named Sarah.
Sarah spoke to one of my individuals in a rude and abrupt manner when telling her to place the card number on the stand. Since we had never been to your restaurant before, we did not understand the process, and the tone used was unnecessary and upsetting. Later, when our table became crowded due to the large tray that holds the salsa, Sarah told my individual, in a raised and harsh voice, “GIVE IT TO ME IN MY HAND.”
I addressed Sarah and let her know that she was being rude to my individual. My individual became upset and told me she never wants to eat at your restaurant again because of how she was treated. This was very discouraging, especially since everything else about our visit — including the food and the person who took our order — was positive.
Our program supports adults with developmental disabilities, and respectful, patient communication is extremely important. We understand restaurants get busy, but that does not excuse speaking harshly or disrespectfully to customers, especially those with disabilities.
We hope this matter will be taken seriously and that additional training or guidance can be provided so this does not happen to anyone else.
Thank you for your time and attention.

Had a hankering for Frito pie. Ordered it for takeout for a few bucks. Added my own sliced avocado on top. Delicioso!

We had lunch here first time in a long time. It’s all self serve now . No one greets you and sets you where you might be comfortable. You order, you pay up front. My son put the tip ahead of time because he rewards everybody good or bad . We won’t get caught doing that again. We waited far too long for our meal . When the waitress came close to our table but down the stairs from us she was shouting something . I couldn’t understand her but she was spitting on our food and breathing right in our plates . She then started on our guest , yelling louder about directions for the table . Say what? Finally she yells , this ain’t your food anyway. And she starts to hand it to another table who got our spit food. She then takes another long while before she heads back with ours and starts sassing us. Sarcastic derogatory rant. We stared her right into leaving us alone and that’s exactly what she did Never saw her again. Had to go find knives cause I guess that was too much work for her . Had to get up and ask for salsa then a take out container . The most stressful place ever. That large woman with the giant glasses is no waitress. She is one of those unfortunate passive aggressive people who shouts from a distance and then tries to act like you didn’t ask her for anything so no wonder . She didn’t know! My wife is disabled . That woman could have put an effort in for that reason and the 20 percent tip but no. She was enjoying herself.
We were not.

This was one of my favorite places in Albuquerque to eat. I moved away 7 years ago and came back today and hated the order at counter thing. It takes away from the environment and experience of the food. Food was okay but tasted a lot better back in the day when you had a waiter/waitress. Hopefully they bring that back. Not sure I will be back unless that happens.
These folks went out of their way to be sire everything was good. Wow most places dont have service anywhere near this good! Lots of vegetarian/vegan options too.
