Mac's Steak In the Rough

My boyfriend got the steak in the rough and I had the tacos it was delicious.

The staff were attentive and the food was cooked to perfection.

1st time there. I don’t want to tip at a drive through pay your workers. $21 for 12 steak fries. Not for me.

I am updating my old review. Ordered a Double rough dinner but got less than 8 fingers. Also, 4 dollars for a large cup of ice with a bit of soda? And then a 60 cent charge for a refill? Won't be back.

I eat at Macs when I come in to Albuquerque by myself. Love the rough dinner combo. There is no availability near where I live. It is a drive in so I order from the vehicle.

Mac’s is one of the best places to eat New Mexican food in burque. The red chili is absolutely delicious ! Salsa is delicious! Service is outstanding! They make you feel like you’re at home ! Like family! Johnny is friendly and on point ! You never have an empty glass ! Chips and salsa are served as soon as you sit! Thank you Johnny and all the staff at Mac’s !

The steak fingers were like chewing gum .cold also.this is the worst crap food in Albuquerque discusting.

Surprisingly good! Cole slaw was cold and sweet the way I like it. If you don’t like the sweet type of Cole slaw it’s not for you. First time I’ve had fried steak fingers and it was very solid. Gravy could use a little more flavor but otherwise a great greasy spoon type meal. Dinner roll was also buttery, warm, and moist. Fries didn’t stand out in any particular way but were properly cooked and served.

Spent over $50 on a meal that was frankly, disappointing. The fish in the fish dinner was slimy between the fish and breading, but otherwise tastes good. I believe it was just not quite crisped enough.
The gravy was bland and lacked any noticeable flavor. Coleslaw was flavorful, but unfortunately that flavor was bad. The steak fingers were fat, probably about an inch and a half around, but when I bit into them, the actual meat was about the size of my pinkie finger. The steak fingers were lacking in flavor and spices, and heavily over breaded. I thought that they were empty at the first bite. Took two bites to find the tiny sliver of meat inside.
Onion rings were the same. Huge, thick breading, little onion and no flavor. I will definitely not be back if this is the quality of the food now. The green chili fries were good, at least. That was the only enjoyable part of the meal aside from the hot dinner roll and spring onion, both of which were delicious.
