Just went by this place to pick up a few items. The place has an open sign and the door was unlocked and the hours say open until 8 pm but when I went in I was told by a rude person that they were closed. Even though there were still items on the shelves I guess he decided to close. No explanation or apology, just "closed."

First time coming here and the bread is amazing. I've been to a lot of panaderias in California and this tops them all! The bread was soft and not dry. Definitely check this place out!

Worse service, they have no education for hot food.

Delicious and fresh baked goods. My husband and I randomly got a hankering for pan dulces from our childhood and set out on a mini adventure. We found this little hole in the wall and we are thrilled. We snatched up several bakery items, including those little baked piggies, for such a low price!

Here is a tiny little treasure. BAKERY signs get me every time and this is no exception. Love when I can enter a bakery, buy a bag of goodies and slip out the door and binge without anyone knowing... 'cept if you read Yelp reviews! I had to have every cookie they make. And I did. And they were good. Not sure of the hours but she was open on Sunday? Monday for sure. Had breakfast nearby and always have to have that mid-morning something. The pastry also looked inviting but cookies on the mind. I recommend. A very small shop so any and all support of this little business is great. Good work! Great baking! Excellent customer service! I wish you Success! Recommend. I will visit my next trip. Thank you.

Not going to lie the bread is good, but the service is horrible. It was my first and last time going. When I was picking out the bread I was told I could not grab from the bottom shelf since it was alread sold yet they still left it on the shelf. When i was ready to pay I told the man to charge me 4 bags of white bread and he told me to grab them with an attitude. When I was aware I was going to grab them but I wanted him to charge me so I wouldn't have to get back in line.

They can make some really good bread! But most of the time they have just a few different selections of bread cause they run out quick. Or a lot of times they'll say that breads in certain trays are for special orders, leaving Us store customers with less options to choose from.

My sister went to buy bread for a last minute dinner my parents had. And the owner an older man got upset she bought to much bread. Told her next she had to call it in with time and he was rude about it. My sister still bought it but I would have left it there. In my opinion if your selling bread who cares who buys it as long as it sells. Your in a business for a reason. Personally we will not be going again. They can keep their bread if that's what they make it stay on the shelf.

You won't be disappointed!! Love sweets, and these get sweeter. Definitely a place to go over and over again!

Coming from the land of Tex-Mex I always enjoy good pan dulce. There isn't much in the Austin area so we would drive to San Antonio for what I think is the best Mexican pastry north of the border. But living in ABQ where do I go for the good stuff. The reviews for Marielena's looked pretty good so let's give it a try. The 1st time we stopped was Labor Day Monday - Closed. The next time we went was on a Tuesday morning - closed. Now I make a mental note of store hours and stop by when they were open. It was around noon and the cases were well picked over, not a lot of variety on the shelves. We bought a couple of empanadas, pan de polvo and marranitos. I came back a few days later - earlier in the morning. I went inside and was met by the aroma of baking. There were numerous racks in the retail area. The cases were being filled with warm, fresh from the oven pastry. Grabbed a bag full and headed home. They were delicious - these rival the best I've eaten in Texas. I stop there every week or so and take a few home with me. Each time I have stopped was near 8am. I feel that a good time to stop would be closer to 8:30 to catch the cases fully stocked. Either way if you want good Mexican pan dulce in ABQ. Give these guys a try!

The bread is made fresh everyday. Upon arriving at 8:15 the bread was not yet set out except for a handful of pieces. They open at 7:00 so I expected them to be fully operational. I grabbed a few pieces and was told certain trays were special ordered. So it left us with a very limited selection. Upon paying, with a debit card, we were let known that the girl on duty would have to call another worker to use the Square app. Luckily I had some cash on hand. The girl on duty was very nice but we will not be going back.

Made of flour so not gf. Nut biscochitos are on a tray next to the other ones and the same trays and utensils are used for all. They taste good. Small bakery with a nice gal at the register.
