The food EVERY SINGLE TIME IVE EVER EATEN HERE has been sparse and nothing compared to it's location. All salads wilted, and almost 50% missing/same for all sandwiches Ive ordered...For the price, it is just horrible.

This is my go to place for a beer or a good drink and some of the best food you will ever eat in your life. The Montecristo and the bosque fries are my favorite.

I would recommend giving your customers all their options. I had asked for shrimp tacos and the man bartender said he didn't have them at the moment. Instead of giving me another shrimp option he just stood silent. So I had no choice but to continue looking at the menu. I ended up asking a different waitress what shrimp options I had and she said she'll see what she can do for me. That is what I call excellent service. Im giving this restaurant 3 stars because the menu was very limited, the service from the first employee and we werent checked on throughout our dinner. But the drinks were incredible. I had a farm to glass margarita and the honey wheat beer. Which I would recommend. ?

I stopped in to get breakfast one morning and it was AMAZING. Their sausage had so munch flavor, portion size was great, and their service was fantastic. I also enjoyed how the place was decorated (simply, unique, and classy).

The best cocktail in town--created by their bartender involving mezcal. The name escapes me (wonder why) but you'll see it at the end of the menu. The food and ambience are great, too.

Happy hour food n drinks were good. Staff was not very friendly and waitress dress code was odd- cheap black leggings and tank tops. Didn't match the rustic deco. Finally, a bartender smiled and wished us a good night when we were leaving.

I had the seafood ceviche as an appetizer. The portion was huge. I also had the wings, they weren't good to me. They were over cooked, but their sauce was good. Drinks were amazing.

I really wanted to love this place. Our server was awesome, but the chef isn't paying attention. My food was mushy and watery. The tortillas in the enchiladas tuned into wet noodles killing the dish. Plus they were not blue corn tortillas. The chicken was either boiled or poached leaving the insides flavorless and wet. (What are they thinking?) The duck fries, the duck wasn't strained or dried out we were left with a pool of water at the bottom (see picture it got soupy at the bottom). My partner had the brisket which was ok. Too fatty but the Carolina inspired sauce was nice. Overall I don't get it. The menu has tons of potential but completely lacks logical application refinement. I didn't finish my margarita it almost tasted like it had soda in it. Something was off. Update: I spent the night chugging water and couldn't sleep because of the excess sodium in the food. Never again.

Really great tap selection and on happy hour bargain prices on tacos. The decor gives a great feeling & would def come back. Nice for a work happy hour imo

I enjoy the scenery and seating, but the layout is has terrible acoustics. Each conversation at each table reverberates off the warehouse like walls and makes it so so loud. The food is great and the drinks are well made, it's just not very cozy. More of a party feel.

We came to Matanza for Happy Hour on a Friday evening. I got the Blueberry Basil Margarita for $5 which was a good deal. I was a bit disappointed when it came out in a rocks glass, but oh well! I didn't get a ton of blueberry or basil flavor from the margarita - to me it pretty much just tasted like a classic margarita. I did not eat, but everyone else at my table ordered the tacos. I will note that our server told us that if a party of 5 or larger orders the happy hour tacos, they all need to get the same tacos to make it easier on the kitchen. The service wasn't great. We ordered our food and our waitress disappeared. We could have used some refills and I would have liked to place an order for an appetizer. When the tacos arrived, we were all very surprised that they were hard shells. The consensus from the table was that the tacos were good, but not great.

Honestly, just a "meh" experience. This was my third time trying it; the space is cool and spacious and close to home-- I really wanted to like it. The food is solidly fine, but given the price they charge for an entree, I expect more than that. The margs are pretty decent and our server this last time especially (Michael) was fantastic. All in all, decent happy hour option, but go to Brixens for dinner.

I called to make a reservation for a party of 15 for dinner for a diverse group of people from 30-something to 80-something out-of-towners . Max asked me a few questions about the party and what we wanted for food options. He got us set up in The Lounge area and it was perfect! Everyone had plenty of space to relax and enjoy themselves. Max had the patience of a saint when he explained some of the menu items to guests not familiar with NM cuisine. Everyone had a wonderful time and loved the local beer options, the cocktails and the food. I loved having such a great place to enjoy the time with family and friends!

I worked at Matanza from August to November. I agree with what Angela S. had to say about how the owner treats employees. I quit on November 16th and have yet to receive my last check. I have contacted them multiple times, have gone in, and even have left a letter to the owner and manager. Any one have any advice on how I can get my check??

If you can't find something to eat on this large and creative menu, there's something wrong with you. Choosing what to have was our biggest problem and we'll have to come back to try their taco flights during happy hour. Tons of beers on tap, all the food was excellent and the service was awesome. It's a little loud when it's busy but who's talking when you've got this great food in front of you??
