This is a local Mexican restaurant with great food and fast service. Twice we were asked how everyone was. Or server was fantastic. Wonderful casual place and you can tell it's a favorite by the people streaming in.

We had dinner for 4 on a busy Friday night and service and food was excellent. We ordered combination plates and chicken enchilada plates. The green chile was hot which I enjoy and we were told the red sauce is even spicier🌶
I love that they serve you 2 sopapillas per meal as I usually like 1 with my meal and another as dessert. Their beans and rice were excellent and no complaints around the table. I loved that they serve chips and salsa with their meals and the salsa had a kick to it.
We knew going in this place was cash or check only so no problem for us. At $13 a plate this was well within budget for our family. We will definitely be back as this is going down as one of our favorite places to eat when in Albuquerque ❤️

Not sure why everyone thinks this place is so great. It is mid tier New Mexican food in a no frills environment. My wife's family loves it, so there is a following. More often than not they are closed when we pass through town.

Family run, not fancy just honest good New Mexican food. Great prices but remember they do cash or checks only-NO CREDIT CARDS! I would recommend their sopapillas & Posole. Great wait staff!

Padilla's is a great family run restaurant with wonderful Albuquerque-style Mexican food including your choice of red or green chiles with your meal and sopapillas with honey. They're a cash only restaurant, but there's a convenient ATM in the parking lot.

OMG. If you live in Albuquerque or just pass through, you need to stop at Padilla’s New Mexican Kitchen! The food was delicious, the service was exemplary, and the place was full on a Tuesday. I heard the Happy Birthday song sung at least 3 times during my visit. A family owned, family friendly place. Bring cash. No cards.

I grew up in southern NM and now live in Colorado. Mexican food isn't the same in CO. This restaurant smelled amazing as soon as we walked in and it was packed. As we waited for our table, we watched food come out and knew we picked the right place to try. Padilla's did not disappoint. The service was great. The food was amazing! We can't wait to visit again and eat here.
Ps. They only accept cash or check so be prepared.
