Called to order food and was put on hold (for 12 minutes) and they never came back. Over the past few months we have had this issue several times. Tried to call back and the line is busy. Nothing like being ignored when you are trying to support local business (never get a call back either). In this day and age what business only has a single phone line. Very frustrating (guess they only care about walk in customers).

Great local place with a mom and pop vibe. Simple decore & savory new Mexican food . Felt like a slice of southern hospitality in the dessert. Come enjoy a minimalist vibe and delicious good food from hard working polite people.

We went for our first time and had a great experience. I ordered the combination plate with red cheese enchilada, crispy beef taco, chile relleno and sopaipilla. My wife had the sopaipilla with egg and chorizo. Kids had pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Everything was so delicious. I even learned that everything is homemade they make homemade sopapillas corn and flour tortillas even the crispy taco shell that looks store-bought was actually homemade. I’ll definitely be coming back.

If you're in search of truly authentic New Mexican cuisine, look no further—this spot is an absolute gem. Every bite transported me back to my childhood, reminding me of the way my great-grandmother used to prepare her meals with so much love and tradition. The red and green chile are both bursting with rich, bold flavor—the kind that lingers just long enough to make you crave more.
And let's talk about the tortillas—soft, warm, and perfectly made. I'm a huge fan. They paired beautifully with every part of my meal and honestly might be some of the best I've had in a long time.
The atmosphere is cozy and charming, with a small, intimate vibe that makes you feel right at home. One of my favorite touches is the New Mexican music playing softly in the background—it adds such a special, nostalgic feeling and really elevates the dining experience.
This place is the real deal when it comes to New Mexican food. I’d love to see them expand to more locations so even more people can enjoy what they’re serving up. A true taste of New Mexico!

The food was delicious and the atmosphere felt like home. It was a great experience until we went to the front to pay and when I asked the girl in the front to spilt the check, she gave me a horrible look and had attitude when I went to pay with cash. It’s unfortunate that people that hate their jobs are the front face of a restaurant. Didn’t expect to walk out feeling like an inconvenience. Our server was perfect! Not sure if the food was worth it or if we will return after the hosts terrible attitude.

I can temember years ago when Pereas used to be located on Central just west of Wyoming. That is how long I have been eating there. My sister and three of her adult children eat there . Prices are resonable

Perea's is a family run restaurant serving traditional New Mexican food in Albuquerque for decades. The staff treat you like part of their family. They are friendly and attentive. The food is made with fresh quality ingredients.

The food is AMAZING!!! Super hot & delicious green chile & red chile, food actually tastes homemade.. Service is impeccable... They really aim to make you feel welcome & happy.. My parents have been ciming here for years- their favorites are the breakfast plates & smothered burritos.. My husband & my self LOVE the enchiladas!! Our kids are HUGE fans of the pancake plate, portions are large enough that our 3 yr old & 1 yr old are able to split a plate & leave with full bellies 🥰

Food was good, nothing super spectacular. Got there right when it opened which was good because it filled up fast. A little expensive for a hole in the wall place but it was reasonable.

Food was great the cooks are amazing. Our waitress (with shaggy bangs, black hair) I give no stars if I could for service. I was looking at the menu not knowing she was standing there and says with attitude “ do you want me to come back or you still looking “ it would have been nice if she said “hi may I take your order” and not assume I saw her. Food came out and did not get checked on once. My son and I wanted to order another pancake, side of bacon and needed more napkins so I ask the hosts if we could get a pancake and bacon, I’m not sure where our waitress is . she replied “ I will tell her if I see her “ (????) I’m thinking ok meaning you’re not going to go tell her … so I gave both a benefit of the doubt . My son and I finished never got checked on so we could let the waitress know what we’re needed and wanting to add on. She took so long that my son and I ended up walking to the cashier to cash out without our ticket . Ohh but our waitress was so nice and welcoming to the next large table next to us (greeting and being attentive to them ) I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a female or if she only caters to bigger tables . I gladly did not tip for the lack of attentiveness, attitude and service.
