There was a sign on the door to wait 15 mins for the worker to return. Waited 30mins.
Bagel was hard, chewy, stale, odd flavor and i was truly incredibly disappointed.

I do like the tuna melt here. But I was Shocked when I ordered the pita pocket and an iced tea. The total was $15 and I received 1/2 of a small pita containing 2 falafel balls and 2 small containers, one of hummus and one tzatziki plus a little salad. All tasted great, but I was still hungry when I finished.
The hummus and tzatziki were both in containers normally used for condiments. Fine for the tzatziki but could’ve used more hummus to offset the tiny sandwich

Paid around 13$ for half a dozen "daily freshly made bagel," as advertised to me by the person at the counter, to take home. First, i was offered to get frozen bagel for later use, to which I said no and inisisted on getting fresh bagel made today. 10 minutes later I got a warm bagel which I was very excited about. Went home, and to my surprise, it turned out to be stale and microwave defrosted bagel, because of which it was suoer hard, chewy and overly dry, clear indication of them selling me a refrigerated bagel after they microwaved it. I don't know if every customer is treated this way or it's just my lucky day! Hopefully, they will work on it and deliver what they advertise and what's being requested by the customer.

Ruthie’s is inside the JCC. I ordered 4 bagels, two everything and one green chile/ one red chile. Didn’t realize until I was home that I had received all everything, but it was fine. Hopefully wasn’t meant for someone else.

Customer service was strange, they were friendly but didn’t tell me (I think anyway?) that the bagels were still baking and it would be 10+ minutes. It was worth it, they were good!

I saw another reviewer say they were nothing like NY bagels. I disagree, mostly. I grew up on Long Island and something is missing with these bagels vs NY bagels, but they’re about 75% there. SO much better than Einstein/ other options available in NM. Texture is great, but they’re not big and fluffy. They remind me more of Montreal’s bagels.

As of 2024 it was about $15 for 4 bagels and a side of cream cheese. Not cheap by any means, but I think they’re worth it for a treat for sure. Thanks Ruthie’s! I’ll be back.

Disclaimer: I bought these bagels from the coop in Santa Fe which are supposed to be fresh. They’re garbage bagels but I’m also from the east coast so I’m VERY picky. If you’ve never had a proper bagel from NYC, I’m sure these are fine.

A beautiful, handmade braided challah served with a beautiful smile. And it turned out to taste fantastic!

Pretty good bagels. Not the best, as they were frozen. If they had been fresh 5 stars.I still have yet to find a bagel in Albuquerque that compares to a shop in Silver Spring MD. There you could watch them being boiled, them straight to the oven, unless they got dressed with various toppings.I really miss getting a hot from the oven salt topped chewy, crunchy bagel.Service was great. I got 7 for price of 6, as 1 the server felt was not up to standards.

Wish you guys had a shop in Santa Fe! The bagels directly from the JCC were way fresher than the bagged bagels we usually get up here - that being said, we still buy the bagged bagels anyway, and just did a couple days ago!

Chris Davidson

They are getting a bit pricey.

Real bagels boiled before baking. Not just rolls with holes.

The best bagels I've found in Albuquerque! REAL deal bagels - boiled and delicious. Always warm and fresh. Perfectly paired with their shmear!

Stopped in passing through town. Was worth the detour. Bagels made fresh. The hatch bagel with the hatch cream cheese was superb. Friendly staff, we will stop again the next time we are in the area.

Hard to find, inside the JCC, but well worth the search! Curbside delivery option.
