They have a posting on the internet that they close at 9
Well
If you arrive at 820 they be close already, very small and unprofessional place
Make you drive for no reason
This place is by far the best sushi restaurant I have been to in a very long time. Being from Southern California, my wife and I can easily say this place is better than a lot of places in California. Our server was great, we didn't even know she was the owner till almost the end of the night. I found my new favorite sushi spot and highly recommend it.

This place was phenomenal. I love trying new places, especially since there's not a lot of different choices on the west side of town. This place may have been here for a while, but it was my first time visiting. And I was extremely impressed. Our waitress was nice, very tentative, and on top of it. She had amazing recommendations. We got the Albuquerque roll and the New Mexico roll, as well as the Bokobe bento box. All the food options were amazing. Very quick service, and a nice relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I’ve eaten here multiple times — yes, the service is usually good, and the location is convenient. But my most recent experience with takeout sushi was deeply troubling. While eating, I found what appeared to be worms in the roll. As someone with a manager’s food handling card, I can confidently say: this is one of the most serious food safety violations possible — especially when it comes to raw fish.
It feels like the owners have become complacent, more focused on profits than on protecting their customers’ health. What once felt like a place of care now feels like a business riding on reputation instead of quality. And let’s be honest — “Sakura,” the beautiful cherry blossom, does not come to mind when your food turns your stomach.
To make matters worse, arriving even 30 minutes before closing means being rushed out so the staff can “leave on time.” That’s not hospitality — that’s clock-watching.
Albuquerque deserves better. Please consider supporting restaurants that still take pride in food safety and customer care — not just appearances.

The manager lady (dunno her name) was the only real problem with my experience here.
Otherwise, the food was good, and a pleasant place overall.
However! Danielle, whom I would recommend you specifically ask to be your server, made up for the server we got seated with. Friendly, explained everything well. Hopefully, she gets her well-deserved recognition!

✨This is a beautiful hidden gem in Albuquerque ~! ✨ MUST VISIT 🍣
The sushi is always fresh~! You can taste the firm, yet soft texture in every bite~! 🤤 I can’t have enough of it 😋 specially their big eye tuna, their salmon eggs, their eel sushi 🍱 their bento boxes are MASSIVE. They have different menus, one for lunch, one for dinner. I genuinely recommend trying out everything in their menu, my personal favs are (on appetizers) Crab tempura 🦀 , grilled dumplings 🥟, monkey 🐒 brain, and egg rolls. For entrees, outside of their sushi, Stone Pot dishes, fried rice, spicy chicken~! 😋

My new favorite spot for a Casual date night or just a good bite on the west side.

Five stars across the board. Other family members of mine have always raved about this place, and I finally got to enjoy it this evening. The sushi was excellent, the sake was tip-top, and the service was absolutely phenomenal. Like a TRUE family restaurant. It’s a favorite now, and I can’t wait to be back.
(Yes, my nephew in the photo went STRAIGHT for the stack of ginger in the photo.)
You can feel how much the staff cares about us enjoying ourselves. And taste the quality in food and chefs skills. Much appreciated!!
This place ROCKS! I’m super picky about sushi-especially in NM. This is the only place we will go in the entire metro for sushi. When you see the XL sushi boats going out several at a time you know they are going through the fish in quantity. For cooked options the Bim Bap is excellent!
Fresh great tasting sushi. Prompt and courteous service.
After visiting a few sushi restaurants I can say Sakura really takes its food and service seriously. The tea is warm and in a tea pot. Even though we are in the middle of a desert the fish here actually taste distinctively and not bland oman's frozen thaw. The salmon , the yellows fish and the tuna taste very different as they should. How I repent of spending my money else where.
