Second time visiting. My five star rating is because it's so great to find a REAL sushi place in Albuquerque. If you can do good sushi in New Mexico, you get an extra star (at least!) from me. Today I visited for lunch and had a good sushi combo. Everything was fresh and tasty, and service was great. My favorite thing is that they do not overload you with rice—neither on the nigiri nor the rolls. Their eel sauce is also especially delicious. I need to come here more often. (Agree with those who say it's not worth upgrading to the "premium" fish options. I did, and didn't feel that was a thing worth paying for.)
Vegetarian options: Haven't had their veggie rolls yet, but next time. They look really good. Also nice tofu options, salad, etc. I would have no issue getting a good meal here as a vegetarian.

We had several sushi and sashimi dishes. Everything was delicious. The salmon sashimi is amazing melt in your mouth. Miso soup was perfect. Even the saki was smooth and delicious.

I had lunch today at Sakura. My mother ordered the salmon, and it came with a gray color, and a strong fishy smell. It tasted horribly. I complained about it and my mother never touched the fish. I was charged the full price for the fish. Also, the sushi had a very weird taste and flavor. I ordered a Philadelphia roll and the fish tasted old. Disgusting experience and I will never come back. There is no management in this restaurant. Horrible experience.

Good people. Very good food. Not overwhelmed by the "special" sushi. Every other aspect of our experience was worth the trip across the river. BTW I had the special chirashi. (No pics because I'm a diner not a reviewer).

I tried both the regular chirashi and the upgraded premium one on two different visits. I have been to Japan, Korea, and Taiwan and thus know about good sushi. I must say that their so-called premium fish wasn't worth the extra expense. The regular one tasted better than the premium. One thing worth mentioning: the premium tuna is supposed to be fattier and thus lighter color. My premium tuna pieces looked lighter color on the top, but when I picked up a piece, I noticed that only the tip was fattier, and the larger nonfattier side was hidden, as shown in the picture. Felt like cheated. It is a decent restaurant otherwise considering that they offer a wide variety of dishes and yes it is on the expensive side. Will think twice before going back there again.

Went there a couple of weekends ago to celebrate birthdays with my family. Great friendly service from everyone there. The food was really good, great portions and nice atmosphere too. Very enjoyable!

We came in about 1:00 PM on a weekday, and were seated immediately. Our server was very professional, prompt, courteous, and friendly. We really enjoyed the food and quiet ambience. We'll be back!

The only restaurant for me. Anything else, my hubby can make better at home.We’ve been going to Sakura Sushi and Grill for years, and they’ve never disappointed us. My personal favorite is the Double Salmon Roll.its perfection ?
