I have been to sushi freak thousands of times and absolutely love their business especially the Uptown location… they have never have disappointed me, until June 17,2025. I went to Sushi Freak, the Coors location and got a beach bum burrito but in a bowl… not sure what I had eaten that was Bad but something tasted off to me. I thought it was just cause I had it in a bowl rather than a burrito. My hypothesis was wrong. I have received the worst food poisoning in my entire life. I was defecting and vomiting at the same time, fever dreams & chills, the worst nausea and was too weak to care for myself…I truthfully thought the end was near. Thankfully I recovered and finally mustered up enough strength to type this review to notify potential customers to be wary of food borne illnesses at this establishment especially.

Super awesome service and staff @ our local Coors location! We love them! They went above and beyond for us! They even remade my roll for me, I couldn’t believe it-they rock! I’m a vegan and it’s hard to find vegan sushi anywhere around here they have the BEST vegan options for vegans as you can create your own! We love the staff, we love the service and we will most definitely frequent them 🩷! 10 stars!!!!

First and definitely NOT last time eating at Sushi Freak! I was looking for a fast, delicious, and chill Sushi lunch break and i have found it. Virginia and Garret were both attentive to my order whilst also been complete dolls and describing the menu in detail. I ended up over eating from all the delicious suggestions haha. Very chill vibes, neat and clean.

I could tell the crew was unfortunately a bit strung thin but they got my order out right and in a timely manner. They were very respectful and helpful with any questions I had. This was my first time there and overall was a great experience

It’s rare I’m on the westside of ABQ but recently my daughter & I were running errands that took us north on Coors. What a pleasant surprise to see SUSHI FREAK WESTSIDE. We are already familiar with the menu since we’ve been to their sister store at the Q. The food was excellent! The Samari Nachos are my favorite. So delicious!

Sushi is awesome and the manager, Virginia, is great! I always bring the guys from the fire station.

The food is good, if you can somehow order it. If you are able to order it online or by phone, then you should already feel privileged. After that, they start canceling items off the order, until you get to the point that either you or them cancel the whole thing (only half your family gets food today, sorry).

We have spent more time trying to order or having to find another place to eat, than actually getting the food (30 minutes after we've ordered and think we have food being prepped, we find out it's been canceled). It frustrating, to say the least. If you really want to eat there, go in, hopefully they have enough product to serve your whole family.

Last time I went they had no spicy mayo, then I go order on DoorDash a few days later and they cancel my order. This place is going down hill fast!!!

Just had an unfortunate experience. Got done with a workout and decided on a poke bowl. Arrived at Sushi Freak at 7:15 pm knowing that they closed at 9:00 pm. There was a hand written sign on the door saying that they were "closing early at 8:00 pm due to staff shortage". Opened the door and the person behind the counter looked at me with a slight scowl as he was preparing a roll. I asked if they were still open. He mumbled something unintelligible without looking up. I responded that I'd "come back some other time". He never looked up or responded as I walked out. Really poor service.

I wish someone from the franchise quality control would audit this place. It continues to be awful and I go back hoping it’s changed but it hasn’t.

Had a California roll combo, with edamame. The roll itself was good but honestly the edamame made the whole meal worse. Would come back because I enjoyed the roll but wouldn’t try the side again.

It was 8, they close at 9 and they wanted to tell us the lobby was closed? Didn’t give ginger or cucumber salad on the side how you usually get. The quality was just not it at all, i remember why i stick to the one at uptown, they never disappoint and it’s not up charged smh.
