I was pretty disappointed after getting the Frito Pie and had to throw it away it was so bad. The Fritos were stale and the rest of the food tasted like it was cooked in old oil.

So my daughter was having her first birthday party and I called Taco Sal because I know they have great customer service and great food. They catered Frito pies for 30 people for an amazing price they also gave me sopapillas and delivered to my address. 100% the best Albuquerque Mexican food customer service experience and taste that I've ever experienced

Holy cow, I haven't been to this restaurant in probably two decades, I remember why now. The food was terrible, literally left a bad taste in my mouth. The only thing good about this place was the a/c did its job very well. Waitress was nice and friendly tho.

The Chile was like a sauce. Like enchilada sauce. Tasty if you like that kind of cooking. Over all the food was not bad. The service was good but the atmosphere was lacking. Very bland

We came in late afternoon when it wasn’t busy. Took 40 minutes to get out to go order. When we opened the boxes the food was not edible. The steak with the enchiladas looked like it was microwaved and then cooked or it was just bad meat. The refried beans were the consistency of snot and more of a white-ish color. The rice was definitely recooked and almost mush. Then we get to the condiments. The refrigerator they pulled it out of was like a house refrigerator that hadn’t been cleaned in quite a while. It all looked bad. We used to love this place but I don’t think I could ever bring myself to go back. We couldn’t even give the food to a homeless person for fear they would get sick so we just threw it away.

Great chicken chimichanga. I had mine with papitas, as I'm not a fan of rice and beans. Should have asked for the papitas crispy, but forgot.

I've been here twice so far and I've driven by for many years and finally stopped there about 4 months ago and we enjoyed the food. I stopped there again about a month ago and still good. The staff are always friendly and the restaurant is 80s nostalgic like a place I went to when I was a kid. Pretty chill here, I'm going to be a regular.
Great food. We've been coming here for years
Saw a guy named Jesse here, he was great
We went at 7PM it was slow. The food was great! I loved it. The only thing I would say is that the service was slow. We had to go to the front to get our refill. If that gets worked on, then it will be great!!
Disappointed in the food. Rice was nearly store bought quality, and soggy. Food was not overly hot (stove hot), but just warm. I had the combo plate (a lot of food), and the meats lacked seasoning; especially the taco. The red chile tasted store bought. If this restaurant were in Oregon, Washington, NY, Florida, Etc; it would probably be 3-4 stars. But when you are in New Mexico, surrounded by excellent Mexican & New Mexican restaurants… you gotta do better than this. Prices were fantastic, a lot of food for the $. Service was excellent.
