We went last night and never again. We love this restaurant but after new management it’s awful. We got seated and then nothing else. Nobody came by nobody asked if we wanted drinks and mind you this was 45 minutes later after my daughter went to the bathroom after my husband went to the bathroom after I had said we’ve been waiting here and after everything and still nothing. We just got up and left. The thing is all the staff was just staring as they looked away.

Never again. My daughter and I went to eat dinner here this evening and we ordered lots of food. When her miso soup came out, it was ice cold and extremely salty to where we couldn’t even eat it. Not a huge deal. It was just a side soup. I ordered the Japanese curry. I tasted it and it tasted extremely salty as well. I tried another bite to mix it in to see if it was just a certain spot. It was absolutely super salty. You couldn’t eat it whatsoever. I called the waitress over and I told her this was really salty. She said I don’t know why it would be so salty. It’s just a powder mixed with water that we do. I let her know it was still entirely too salty and then I was sending it back. I gave her the plate back and then when it was time to check out, she told me she was still going to be charging me for the plate, but she would give me a 20% discount off that plate. I said I took two bites from it and I gave you the entire plate back Why in the world would you be charging me 80% of that plate When I sent it back barely touched. She said well our policy is if you even take one bite a bit we still have to charge you for it. I said how else are we supposed to know if it was salty or not if we didn’t have one bite of it. She said well that’s just the managers policy. I asked to speak with a manager and she never brought one to the table. She then offered 50% off off of that plate that I sent back, I said absolutely not. I gave you the entire plate back. It was terrible. Then another waitress came and gave me my bill. I said was it taken care of? She said yeah and then walked away. Manager never came I was never checked on, no apologies, nothing. The staff seemed miserable. Not friendly whatsoever. And the food was extremely salty. And the fact she told me their Japanese curry is just made from a powder and water mix proves that it’s not worth going back to.

Got a salmon sashimi (5 pieces for $16) a sushi roll and some kind of “ribeye” steak with rice and veggies ($16). I tipped $8 on takeout and they forgot my spicy mayo. The sushi roll (Mrs. Krab) was very tasty. The salmon sashimi was overpriced compared to other places in Albuquerque. The steak did not have almost any fat in it, definitely didn’t taste like a ribeye cut - very chewy, lots of sauce - not terrible but not great. The atmosphere looked nice and perhaps that would’ve improved the review but for take out, it was overpriced and average.

stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Huge menu , delicious food and our server was wonderful. Attentive but not pushy. The place is smaller than I expected so not sure how it handles larger parties of 6+ but will definitely be back.

We have been to the Tamashi on the other side of town and reminisced about our experience and wanted to try this location because it’s closer to us. However, we are a Japanese family and we fold our chopstick wrappers to hold our chopsticks as it traditional and very common among out culture, and our waitress threw them out. She threw them onto the table next to us that hadn’t been cleaned off yet WITHOUT asking us. This action made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable from the start. The appetizers were great we got the chicken gyoza and spam musubi and were thoroughly impressed. We excitedly waited for our food, and we ordered the Teriyaki beef roll and the rolls were so big they fell apart as we picked them up spilling all over the table. We also had ordered the vegetable tempura roll and we not only had the same issue but the tempura itself was thick and soggy. I personally ordered the Yaki Udon (beef) and noticed that the beef was more fat than beef. Due to this fat there was a layer of it on the bottom of my bowl. At the end we discussed about the let down of our experience and as we waited our waitress decided it was more important to check her phone in the back than to give us boxes and our check. Safe to say we will not be coming back.

Spicy ramen and crunchy dragon roll. This place was delicious. That's the best sushi I've ever had.

This was unfortunately the worst Asian fusion food I've had in Albuquerque. I hate wasting food but even I couldn't salvage anything into being worth saving after trying our items.
My husband got a bento box, which had tons of food for the price. The miso soup was not edible. The teriyaki chicken was dry. The salad dressing was awful. The rice, California roll, and tempura were pretty good.
I got ramen, as I had been sick and just wanted yummy broth and comfort food. It was terrible. The broth had a half inch of oil on the top, which even after I took it off, tasted like bacon grease. I was so disappointed. Definitely not the slow-cooked, hearty, healing broth I was hoping for.
We usually give places at least two chances before giving a poor review or deciding not to go back, but we won't be spending any more money here.
