This restaurant is permanently closed! Why don't you at Open Table not know this? Do you ever read these posts?
I had reservations for two. We received no notification about any issue at the restaurant, but when we arrived, there was a chain across the door and we had to figure out something else for dinner. That was very disappointing because I really like this restaurant.
This place is not open! We went to have a date night and was all excited to try, when we got there the parking lot was empty and everything was locked. Online it says they're permanently closed. OpenTable needs to take this off
The restaurant was “closed for remodeling” as written on a wipe board put on the door. Open Table still took the reservation and nothing on the restaurant website or other social media indicating that the restaurant was closed. Ruined a birthday dinner.
I saw the recent reviews noting the restaurant being closed, we called multiple times and didn't get an answer. I left a message on their answering system, but didn't get a call back. I hope someone at OpenTable is reading these and takes action as I couldn't find a way to submit it using their “Contact Us Bot”.
I can't really rate the restaurant, since when we showed up for our reservation, the restaurant was closed. No sign. Nobody answered the phone. Nothing on the web page. Extremely disappointing.
Made reservations and when we got there on time, the entire restaurant was closed. Had to make alternate arrangements for a birthday dinner for my wife. Neither one of us was pleased.
The eggplant and the dates we're unbelievable! Definitely will come back next time we are in town!
Very happy to have dined here at the end of our trip. The menu offerings were plentiful, and fantastically prepared & presented. Service was excellent, and wines were carefully selected and delicious. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience !!!
We were visiting and anted a tapa experience. Staff very nice and the chef came out and talked with us. Had a variety of tapas, a paella, and a cheesecake to top it off. Full bar and on site parking

Debajo Tapas y Vino is truly amazing! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by our super friendly waiter, James. The service was exceptional, as James provided us with fantastic recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed. We kicked off our culinary journey with two delicious tapas: the Gambas a la Plancha and the Datiles. Among the two, the Datiles stood out as our favorite, offering a perfect blend of salty and sweet flavors.
Next, we indulged in the paella debajo, which impressed us with its rich rice flavor and delightful seafood medley. While we felt the shrimp was slightly overcooked, the overall dish was satisfying. Despite the slightly smaller portions than expected, we decided to try one more tapa, the Higos y Barriga. This dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly complemented by the honey goat cheese.
When it came time to select a dessert, my husband and I were torn between the Basque cheesecake and the creme brulee. Thanks to our kind server, James, we were able to order one and receive the other as a complimentary treat. After sampling both desserts, we both agreed that the creme brulee stole the show! We are already looking forward to returning for another delightful date night at Debajo Tapas y Vino.

This place is very good. One of the best restaurants in New Mexico honestly. That being said, if they dropped their prices by 20-30% it would probably be more popular. It is tapas sized portions with entree prices.
The staff was fantastic and very attentive. The water glasses were always filled and I drink like a camel lost in the Sahara. Destiny is very professional, kind, and a joy to have as a server.
The Alemejas y Mejillones were delicious in the garlic white wine sauce. It needs more bread than two slices in order to sop up that saucy sauce thought. 7.5/10
Patatas Bravas were cooked to perfection with a crispy golden brown outer crust and a light fluffy fleshy interior. However, the tomato based sauce was not viscous enough and left me wanting more flavor. The aoili was fine, but nothing to write home about. Again on the price, $12 dollars is a bit high for this dish. 5.0/10
The Pinchos were quite good. The jamon wrapped around the chicken was not burnt and the chicken itself was not undercooked. I really enjoyed the red pepper squash sauce. I liked this dish, but the chicken could do with a longer marinade time. 7.3/10
The aguacate frito was fantastic. I never knew avocado could be fried so perfectly and paired with a balsamic glaze had me begging for more. 9.4/10
sangria white; good drank 9.0/10
The 2nd street kolsch should be served in a stange, not a dimpled mug. However, the dimpled mug was chilled, so I tried to get off my high beer soaked horse. 8.4/10
Last but not least, the Basque Cheesecake. Stop what you are doing and run for this cheesecake. It is gluten free (for you people with coeliac disease or those who enjoy a fad diet) without a crust, but it is the best cheesecake I have ever eaten. I have had cheesecake in Michelin star restaurants that are not as good as this. the texture is decadent and cakey. The raspberry drizzle is not overly sweet, yet naturally perfect for the palate. The thinly sliced, chilled, single strawberry made each bite light and playful. I would work a week of shifts in the dish pit for this recipe. 9.8/10
I plan to return to try each item on the menu. I just hope the quality to price ratio improves for most of the dishes.

Best Tapas in Albuquerque. Whether for date night or meeting friends this is the place. It was the first restaurant I took my wife when we moved to town and have been taken everyone we know to it. The fried Manchego cheese is our favorite! If you want the paella order it first as it takes a while as it's fresh.
