Thunder Road Steakhouse & Cantina

Shady people hanging out in the parking lot. Inside is dead, druggies everywhere walking around like zombies. Bathrooms smell of sewer. Bar in the front smells like a moldy pool. Place is a dump! Never stopping here again!

It was our first time eating at this restaurant. We ordered guac and chips and a ribeye steak. The guac and the drinks were great. However the ribeye steak, which I don’t even think it was a ribeye it looked and tasted more like a sirloin, was AWFUL! They over salted way too much. It was hardly enjoyable. Unfortunately this has turned us off from ever returning!

Me and my family dad a amazing Breakfast 👏. Carlos are server was amazing always making sure we had everything we needed definitely recommend going.

Our server was very polite, helpful and apologetic. We didn't get her name since all the staff wears regular clothes without name tags. We started off with their valentines day drinking specials and they were disgusting. The old fashion was nasty and who puts it on the rocks? I ordered their Michelada Shrimp Cocktail and it was literally a margarita glass with a tajin rim with 5 shrimp, filled with pico de gallo and beer. No cocktail mix, no avocado and no oysters. It was awful! Our main dishes were decent, missing a few things but at that point we were over this place. Last but not least, their live band selection could have been better. Especially for it being Valentines day dinner. Kudos to our server because she tried and it wasn't her fault.

Thunder Road had great music. That’s the best I can say. Food was subpar and drinks were very expensive. $8 for a Moscow Mule plus the $7 for the alcohol to go in it. Food had no flavor. The steak bites were cooked to a crisp. Asada tacos cold and no flavor. Chicken Caesar salad with no croutons or Parmesan cheese and chicken dry. Service sucked. We watched our waitress just standing around and joking with staff like she didn’t care at all. We tried to talk to her about food and she could have cared less. We asked her for price of drinks before ordering and she gave us the $8 answer but not the alcohol charge. We tried to find a manager and asked our server for one and she said that none were available.

Was happy with the food and morning staff.

So to start this off It is very rare that I do not leave a tip or even leave a bad review, but tonight, that changed after the 39$ meal my partner and I received.

I ordered the birria quesadilla with water, and my partner ordered carne asada steak tacos with wine. Order placed very quickly and easily. Problem incoming.....no less than 8 minutes our food comes out.

My birria quesadilla was extremely salty and had multiple cold spots it also had very little meat inside it.

My partners' carne asada tacos 2 of 3, which were cold, greasy, and served with 1 lime also the singular lime that was served with it was so old that it literally didn't produce any juice out of it. The steak that was used was incredibly bland. It just barely had more taste than the corn tortillas.

We had asked for more limes when the food was originally delivered, but our server never came back, so we can assume they forgot.

We paid an overpriced amount for half a glass of wine. Which ended up being stale! (Usually due from not being worked properly)

Furthermore, our server did not come back around after bringing out the food. They only ever made it back to us to rhetorically ask if we needed a box that they were already holding when approaching our table making it obvious that they noticed us just sitting there silently for what seemed like 10minuets or more.

This possibly would have been slightly more understandable if the restaurant was busy this Friday afternoon (4 pm) , but it wasn't. It was us and maybe 3 other tables, with plenty of servers running around.

Surprisingly, there was a manager on shift, but he was doing absolutely NOTHING productive but standing around, watching servers.

This is not the first time we've eaten here. We usually stop in for a few hours while passing through town, but on this miserable visit has us deciding we won't be returning to this casino or restaurant again.

We should've acknowledged all of the previous bad reviews about this place, giving no thought to the quality of flavor leaving that kitchen.

I do not recommend the cantina steakhouse and will probably spread this review to other platforms because of the horrible experience that was had today.

Would have given this nice place a 5 on food but the corned beef hash was not my husband's and my favorite. Too much fat in the large chunks that were soft and just different to our taste. There maybe folks that go there for that breakfast but we were not a fan. We did not complain to the server (who was absolutely wonderful by the way-big thanks to Miquel) because he was just so pleasant. We would return again in the future but would have another menu item. Many blessings to all during these precious Holidays and have a Happy New Year!!

It is okay place. If you like hot and spicy, it's for you. Fajitas, meat overcooked, chopped stake, vegetables way to spicy and oily. But was one exception, stuffed shrimp jalapeño. Was great.

The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly and worked with me to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Our waitress was very attentive to all of our needs. We make a point to stop on every trip through the area.

I reviewed the wrong casino a couple weeks ago, I meant to review this one. First of all, it's a beautiful casino with plenty of table games and slot machines. But the Thunder Road Steakhouse & Bar was excellent. The drinks were very good, the steak was very tasty, and beautiful Christina (bartender/server) was very charming & has a great personality. There's plenty of parking for cars and trucks. I will definitely make it a repeat stopping point whenever I pass through the area.

Placed an order over the phone, quick, friendly service. Absolutely loved my breakfast! Eggs nice and fluffy, sausage links perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend the “Classic Breakfast” 😃
