Horrible ever since the new owners from Durango took over the prices went up food is horrible service is horrible!! Manager doesn’t answer the phone and the building needs major repairs! Not recommended

The man that took our order was extremely rude to us. He had a tone as soon as our conversation began. He started by loudly asking what I wanted, and before I could even answer, yelled the same question at me again. He had an attitude the entire time I was ordering. I asked for the Sriracha curds and he told me the promotion had ended months ago, but they're still up on the website. I asked what sauces come with chicken chunks and he listed them off in a tone that suggested it was obvious, even though the sauces weren't listed on the menu. He also didn't read the order back to me either. He kept asking me if I wanted a large cheese curd when I kept trying to tell him I just wanted a regular size. Whoever brought my order out was much kinder to me, though.
I usually go for the burgers and sometimes ice cream, but decided to try the chicken chunks. The breading was soft, almost like a tempura and the chicken chunks reminded me of cheap frozen nuggets that you get at Walmart.
If you're going to try the food, I recommend the burgers and some patience.

DO NOT GOTO THIS PLACE IN AZTEC NM!! IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING WITH THIS PLACE!! FIRST THEY ONLY SERVE STEACK FINGERS ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AFTER 2PM!! SECOND THE DISHWASHER IS BROKEN SO YOU CAN'T GO IN AND HAVE A ROOT BEER IN A MUG!!! THIRD THEY NEED TO FIRE EVERYONE INCLUDING THE MANAGER!!! AND FOURTH THE OWNERS NEED TO SHUT DOWN 👇 AND CLOSE THE DOORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the best A & W! Brings back lots of memories. Service is very quick, even when they're crazy busy! Staff is always friendly. We always get the rolled tacos with onion rings and, of course, root beer! So delicious! I highly recommend this establishment!

What happened to this place? I have been going since I was little bitty my great grandma would take me for a root beer float. I also worked here in high school so I have some very fond memories of this place. These past 3 years I will only go if I’m not hungry quite yet. I’m typically okay waiting for 20+ minutes for my order to be taken and then about 30+ minutes after for my food because the carhops are generally kind and honestly the root beer itself is worth it. Today was my absolute last straw. Our family had some time to kill waiting on appointment so I thought perfect A&W would be the perfect time kill. As we were sitting in the lobby waiting on the phone two seperate families left…. I witnessed the carhop serve serious attitude as soon as she turned around to another family who asked for ketchup. Thought to myself “man those people must be difficult because this carhop is struggling”. She came back a second time the woman was super kind to this carhop and still she turned around rolled her eyes and mouthed some rude words. Ten minutes go by and I’m thinking maybe this booth is also out of order given 4 other booths had out of order signs. So as this carhop is walking by again I said “excuse me miss” and she snapped “there’s only one person back there taking orders so just be patient”. I didn’t even get to start what I was going to ask. I simply wanted to make sure my booth was working and continue to wait patiently. Honestly I was so shocked by the way she spoke to me I was speechless. After a moment of gathering my composure we decided to leave. Now to the carhop, I completely understood how overwhelmed you were and based off of how young you looked I’m sure you were really struggling with all the pressure you felt. However to treat people who were continuing to be kind to you even with your God awful attitude I hope you take this review to heart and realize that altercation you created will not be tolerated by most and not everyone will walk away and leave it be. I tried to call and speak to management but good luck ever getting this place to answer the phones. This deeply saddens me as this has been a staple in our little town and almost everyone I know who also used to love this place struggles to go because of the time you have to spend there. Unfortunately with employees like that this business will cease to exist of its own volition. Go here only if you are extremely patient and can ignore the attitude I guess.
