A lot of people I saw there today were not wearing masks --which is mandated by the state. Always stocked with my favorite items, but the staff's unwillingness to tell people to mask up is dangerous to everyone who has the respect to actually wear one. I'm dubious to keep going back unless something changes. This is literally a life-and-death situation, especially to all the elderly customers I regularly see shopping there. Please make people follow the law or leave the establishment. Thank you.

Nice store. Reasonable prices. Do not ask the people in the meat department to wait on you. Waited fifteen minutes while the employee totally ignored me. When I finally asked him to do his job. I got attitude. "You can get that in the frozen food section." I did not want frozen meat. This employee needs customer service training or be assigned to a non customer contact job.

Just bought groceries Tuesday at 8:30. You would think the short female cashier could at least say hello or thank you , but I got nothing . How rude. Won't be back. She can shove it

Gross gross gross! The bread for sandwiches are disgusting! Bought 2sub sandwiches from here, not worth it! Whoever makes the sushi is a perfectionist. GOOD SUSHI though!

Horribly lazy and rude deli boys, cashier very unfriendly. I go to the west side. They're way sweeter there.

I so wanted to love this place and left a bit disappointed. Walking into the place the space seems void of theme and organization. It's confusing, do I sit down, do I walk up to the counter that holds bakery items? I had to ask what to do. I asked if they had a menu, and was told it was verbal. Sooooo, what do I ask about, do you really want to tell me the entire menu? How much do your items cost? These are all questions in my mind that I don't want to ask, nor do I want to spend significant time considering. Is it that hard to put items on a chalkboard, or an erasable white board? I understand menu development, but this is off-putting. So I decided to cut to the chase and order a green chile cheeseburger, simply because if you don't serve this ubiquitous New Mexican staple, you should just shut the doors. First try, they had that! Lucky, I guess. By the way, the bakery items look fantastic! This restaurant/bakery seems to get that right. The entire time I sat waiting for my order, it seems like this is a place trying to figure it all out. This is a bad sign because people want service and professionalism, you need to nail it out of the box, because people may not come back, even if you do figure it out. So the burger? Lets start at the best part, the bun. It was a green chile/cheddar bun that was innovative and fun. It was quite good. Unfortunately, when the bun is the best part of your green chile cheese burger, that's not a good sign. The burger was small, overcooked, and not seasoned well. The chile was bland and had no heat! C'mon, we are in New Mexico! If people complain your chile is too hot, have them order their burger with sautéed bell peppers. The burger was served with lettuce, just lettuce. No onions, no tomatoes, no bueno. Ketchup, mustard, and mayo were served in packets and not a bottle, whaa?!?! How cool would a little place like this be if they made their own mayo? Of course, you would call it aioli and we would all love you for it. I was happy to see the burger was served with hand cut fresh potato fries. Unfortunately, the portion was lacking a bit and they had no crispiness to them. I found out when I paid that my burger cost me $8.50. Not a bad price had the burger been, at least 1/3 of a pound and not overcooked. I grabbed some day old donuts on the way out and had them later. They were quite good. You know what would be great is jump on the funky donut bandwagon that has hit the metro areas, but has not reached SJC. You know, maple bacon, Oreo, CoCo Puffs, Thin Mint, etc. Seems they have the bakery stuff down, but if they want to keep the doors open, they had better get it in high gear. Like I said, I REALLY wanted to love this place. I want local joints to thrive and be better than the tired old chains. The only reason I wrote such a long review is I hope this can help the people who run it make some easy and necessary changes. This place could be a SJC gem with just a bit more push to excel and get the little stuff right. I will give it another try in the future. We need great little joints in this area. Good food+good service=we will come back.

Nice selection of pre-made salads and freshly made sandwiches. Different soup daily. Good selection of fresh baked pastries and cookies. Nice bright space. Popular with the locals.
