Chavez Gallery and Coffee Shop, located in the heart of Chimayo, NM, is a must-visit spot for both locals and travelers. Nestled near the historic Santuario de Chimayo, a beloved 1816 adobe church and pilgrimage site known for its healing dirt, this coffee shop is a true reflection of the town’s rich cultural heritage.
The gallery itself is filled with captivating art that highlights the creativity of local talent, creating a unique and inspiring atmosphere. Whether you're coming for the art or the coffee, you'll feel the warmth and soul of Chimayo in every detail.
Owned by a local couple, the coffee shop offers a personal touch to everything they serve. The coffee is fresh, rich, and brewed with care—whether you prefer a smooth latte or a bold espresso, you won’t be disappointed. The couple’s passion for both art and community shines through, making every visit feel special.
Chavez Gallery and Coffee Shop isn’t just a place to grab a cup of coffee; it's a serene spot to take in the beauty of Chimayo, relax, and enjoy the local flavor. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area, especially after a visit to the historic Santuario de Chimayo.

My sister and I happened upon this hidden gem, and had the nicest visit with 5th generation gentleman and his lovely wife who was just bringing the state cookies out of the oven! The coffees were incredible and our visit there was a highlight, in fact, the visit to the entire town is magical.

Quaint and cozy little art gallery with delicious coffee and yummy cookies. It's worth a trip into this cute little town
Don’t pass this place up, incredible owners with an amazing product. I only wish I could get this coffee every day.
We ordered 2 coffees while walking among the small rural shops at Santuario de Chimayo. 12 oz cups to go are $2.50, with latte style milk included. Village art and Chile powders also on sale.
This cozy little shop has wonderful coffee and pastries, but most of all great art and friendly people.
Stopped in a few days ago, and had one of the best cups of pinon coffee that I've ever had! The owner could not be any nicer, and I make a point to stop by every time that I'm visiting.
Stopped here driving from Taos to Santa Fe. Tiny place but a delight. Sat and chatted with the owner while we waited for a storm to pass. Lovely guy who carves statues and has the gallery attached. Home made baked goods and very nice coffee. Very friendly cat!
Quiet, friendly owner, nice art. Good place for a break. No bathroom.
