It's one of my top three restaurants. Awesome food. Great selections. Nice staff. Prices are not outrageous. Nice tasteful piano music.
For years we’ve eaten here at lunch. This time was my dads 90th birthday and we thought we’d have a nice dinner experience. We we’re disappointed, to say the least, all 7 of us.
I made this reservation 6 weeks in advance. 3 days before the celebration, they called to say the 5 o’clock hour was too full and they were moving the reservation from 5:30 to 7:15. That wasn’t an option for our 90 year old dad. In the ‘fine dining experience’ room there was only one other group of 8 when we were seated. I’m guessing they didn’t have enough waitresses.?
The evening is considered a ‘fine dinning experience’. The food is served as is listed on the menu, no substitutes whatsoever. The bar is in the next room and that noise plus a lovely live piano player was a bit too loud. There were drapes that could have been closed off from the bar area but they were left open. With all the noise it was difficult to hear and visit.
The ‘fine dinning experience’ evidently means spending 3 hours there. 45 minutes for bread, another 30 for appetizers, another 30 for dinner and 45 for dessert. The wild game hen was good but not tender, pork chops were dry. Pork chops were served with cilantro hominy. One person would rather have had mashed potatoes instead of hominy. Another wanted the Elk but preferred a different side. Since you can’t substitute, they ordered a different entree. Desserts were nothing to rave about and were dry. Yes, they did have gold on them though.
Being born and raised in Alamogordo, it seems a bit odd to offer a ‘fine dinning experience’ in this area. The UK Chef thinks very highly of himself to have these rules about his food. Seems the chef would want you to be happy to accommodate one’s food preferences.
We we’re extremely disappointed! It was very expensive! And the celebration of a milestone birthday was less than we’d hoped for.
We might be back for lunch sometime but never for dinner again.
Not even close to what I expected. I didn't expect amazing but was hoping for decent. Got there at 830 and found all the food was cold. Unable to order omelet because the omelet person was let go. The sausage and pastries were overcooked and burnt. The sausage gravy was water with bits of meat. I recommend staying here but definitely not eating breakfast here. Also, there is only one waiter.
Rebecca's didn't open till 5, but food was available at the bar. The bartender was exceptionally good. We had the tandoori chicken sandwich, and it was delicious.
My husband and I went for Valentine’s Day dinner. It took one hour to get the first course, a salad. We didn’t get our main course for another whole hour after that. The food was okay, but certainly not worth $75 per person. This place has a lot of potential. It’s unfortunate that the food service is incredibly slow.
Great service and fantastic bar and manager.
Amanda made the best marg I’ve ever had! And I’m a marg drinker everywhere we go. So good!
This is a must stop if you’re in town!! 🍹💛
Put our name on list, waited an hour after being told it would be 15-30mins. After an hour of waiting, the hostess came and told us they aren't sitting anyone else and we wouldn't be getting a table. Superb service. The lodge will never get my money or time again. That is crappy, unprofessional service.
My family loves coming here!!! Great atmosphere with wonderful service. Special shoutout to Nichole, Tona and Xander for making our visit special! Always kind and willing to go out of their way to help. The food is amazing. My husband had the pork chops and he said it’s the best he’s ever tasted. Would definitely recommend to anyone. So glad to have a such an iconic restaurant in our town!
My husband, children, and I ate here over the weekend. We arrived just before 5 pm without reservations but with a confirmed 0-5 min wait time. We used their online wait list. Upon arrival, we were told that we would not be able to be sat until 6:30 due to not having a reservation despite using the online wait list. We looked around the Lodge and visited the gift shop and returned at 6:15. We were not sat until after 6:45. They were then out of lamb, the sole reason we chose Rebecca's. They would not take orders from the bar side (connected to the restaurant). We ordered the "warm" mozzarella as an appetizer that we received about 1.5 hours later, cold, and without bread. Our entrees were cold. I had the hen which was dry and served with a fettucine with tomato sauce that did not pair well. With no dessert, we were still in the restaurant over 2.5 hours. I've had better food at a gas station. $175 wasted. Thank goodness the company was good!

We came here for a drink after dinner. Richard was a hospitable bartender and the lady at the front desk gave a lot of really cool factoids of the hotel’s history! We should return very soon.

WASTE of time and money! Made reservations for 11 people at 7pm, Arrive at 6:45pm, seated past 7, late, sat for 2 hours before food arrived!!! We watched people come after us, eat and leave, clean the table and another group come in eat and leave again. We didn't get out of there until almost 10pm. Food was barely warm and given the way over price, we won't be back. Whoever runs this place, given the reputation we heard about it.... they need to tighten up the staff.

Overall do not recommend; bill was over $435 and disappointing experience. Two entrees served cold, requested reheat which Mgr handled.
Server was mediocre but made effort. No offer/request for interest in dessert for guest of honor or anyone at the table; despite mention of birthday in reservation and in greeting with hostess/server.
Atmosphere was nice view and piano music enhanced ambiance.
Generally ruined birthday dinner experience not as expected.

Came for a bloody mary on Sunday about 9:30. I am 90% certain shrimp cocktail sauce with extra horseradish was used to make it. It was very difficult to drink. I love horseradish but there was way too much. The server had an attitude this morning. Maybe just having a bad day. Like the atmosphere but not likely to return for this beverage.
