Food was not great. The chicken was burnt and looked gray, for a kids plate. The “Cajun” boil seemed like it was tomato paste, old bay seasoning, and garlic seasoning. Not even real garlic used. No lemons available. Even the shrimp po-boy was terrible. Staff were great tho.

The shrimp boils are the Bomb!! Had a wonderful lunch here yesterday with a friend and the food and service was EXCELLENT!!! Oh my goodness, the cajun butter seasoning is so good!! The shrimp was yummy, little corn on the cobbs and little round potatoes, all boiled in the cajun butter sauce. Is your mouth watering yet? Because mine is! Thanks to Caseling(hope I spelled that right!) she's an awesome server/waitress. Smiles galore, super friendly and she makes sure your needs are met and that everything is to your liking! 5 stars to Caseling, and 5 stars to the yummy food! If you haven't visited the Salty Mermaid yet, it's a wonderful, fun experience, the decor is very festive and the place is clean and well taken care of. We'll definitely be back!
My fiancé and I wanted to share a nice dinner out at The Salty Mermaid. Upon entering, our waitress greeted us from behind and informed us that we could sit wherever we liked. We chose the end booth, and she placed a paper on our table, apologizing for not having it prepared, and mentioned, “I’ve been here all day and I’m just over it.”
We ordered drinks and food, but she quickly returned to inform us that they had no rice, which was included in both of our dishes. She handed us menus and asked us to make new selections. The waitress checked on us two to three times before our food arrived, but my fiancé still hadn’t received his drink, so she removed it from the bill.
We ordered the Cajun pasta, and when it arrived, we were extremely disappointed. The shrimp was chewy and undercooked, the sausages resembled hot dogs, and the Alfredo sauce was not authentic. The dish was of a quality that a college student could easily prepare in a dorm.
Overall, we were utterly disgusted with both the service and the food. After everything, the waitress deducted $1 from the bill, (as that was the difference between our two drinks). We strongly advise against dining in or ordering takeout from this establishment, as you will be disappointed every time.

The boils are very good. Some of the best seafood I’ve ever eaten.
We had a great experience at The Salty Mermaid. I ordered the seafood boil with sausage and mussels. There was a small mix up and I accidentally got crawfish instead, which we were told was due to a new kitchen staff member, but it was handled just fine and didn’t take away from the experience.
My boyfriend had a couple hiccups with his meal as well, but everything was smoothed out and he ended up happy. Huge shoutout to Kaislynn, she was amazing. She surprised him with his favorite cake, which completely made his night and meant a lot to us.
The food was good, the prices were very reasonable, and the service really stood out. We’ll definitely be back.

The table was dirty, they didn’t offer to clean it I had to do it myself with a napkin. Brought us Hard bread. I had a 17.99 plate I took home and threw away. It was terrible. Bad service, bad food, bad beer. Our first and last time.

One of the worst dinners of my life we went tonight and the potatoes were so over cooked we had to throw them out then I ordered my daughter a kids meal and it said it came with the fries and when I asked the waitress she said it does not when it clearly had it on the kids menu.. then my seafood boil had NONE OF the seasoning which was dry Cajun rub nope just tasteless seasonless shrimp . Then the crab legs were completely raw.!! It was the most horrible experience ever I tried to talk to 2 different waitresses and they wouldn’t even let me talk because “they have too much going on” if you can’t do your job right go home and find something else wasted money and I’m very disappointed !!! Waitresses were very rude and the food was either undercooked or way overcooked! I give this place a 1/10 do better !!! Paid over 100$ for the service and food to be absolutely horrible never again!!
Service was ok, food was anything I would write about brother law steak was dry and mash potatoes were cold

It's nice to have a seafood place around here, but this particular visit was somewhat disappointing. The food was acceptable, but I've had better for the price. The service was fast, but our waiter was huffing and puffing because I took slightly longer to order. (I'm just indecisive, alright!) Anyway, a good option if you're in the seafood mood, but not worth it if you're on a budget.
