Valentine’s Day Review – We made our Valentine’s Day reservation online in advance. The reservation page showed multiple menu options for February 14th, so we expected some variety. When we arrived, however, there was only a single printed menu with one appetizer option, two entrée choices (Steak Diane or fish & lobster), and one dessert. The menu had “$87” printed at the top. I specifically asked our waitress if that price was for two people, and she confirmed that it was. The menu also stated a complimentary glass of champagne was included, but we were never offered it. To start with the positives: we expected it to be crowded and were fully prepared to be patient and enjoy the evening. Our drinks came out quickly (their drinks have consistently been good), and the appetizer arrived fast as well. However, once the entrées came out — very quickly — it raised some concerns. We were told all steaks would be cooked medium with no option to request temperature. The steak was cooked as described and tasted fine, though the portion was small. The fish and lobster, unfortunately, were noticeably overcooked, with the lobster being rubbery. The speed of service and lack of cooking customization made it very apparent that the food was pre-prepared and plated assembly-style. At a higher-end restaurant, especially on Valentine’s Day with premium pricing, buffet-style or bulk pre-cooked execution is disappointing. When you’re paying elevated prices, you expect food prepared to order — not something that feels pre-cooked and reheated for volume service. That was honestly the biggest letdown of the night. We were prepared to spend around $90 plus drinks. What surprised us was the final bill — $240. That’s when I asked to speak with the manager. The confusion stemmed from: The online reservation page showing multiple options. Being told $87 was for two people. Not receiving the advertised complimentary champagne. The manager explained the updated details were posted on Facebook and that the website wasn’t updated. Not everyone relies on Facebook — many customers depend on the official website when making reservations. To their credit, I paid the bill and remained respectful. The manager applied a 20% discount, which essentially covered the drinks, and offered to personally assist us in the future. The Rails has a great atmosphere and strong drinks. But for a premium holiday experience, clearer communication, accurate pricing transparency, and food prepared to order would have made a major difference. Unfortunately, this Valentine’s experience felt overpriced, misleading, and below the standard expected from what is considered one of the more upscale restaurants in Clovis.
Wow, we are lucky to have this place in close New Mexico. A wonderful food steak, potatoes, scallops, salads and just wonderful and leave me the great job for my wife's birthday by bringing out the birth of day cake with the candles, the manager is fantastic. And the server was very good. I think her name was genane.

Appetizers and desserts were wonderful, but not very impressed with the steaks. Ordered a NY strip, rare. The cut size rivaled a filet mignon (very small) and it was cooked medium-well at best. However, it was still pretty tender and tasted good. Whiskey selection was excellent.
For the price and delivery of the steak, probably won't order one of it again, but there's a lot of other solid entrees, so nothing I'm too upset over

This is the best fine dining within 100 miles and is on par with the best places in both Lubbock and Amarillo.

This is by far the best restaurant in Clovis. Their steaks are incredible and cooked to perfection. They have a wide menu, ranging on a fancier meal with a few simpler options. The atmosphere is fantastic, with an outdoor patio and well-furnished interior. The staff was friendly and professional. A great dining experience!

This was my second time to eat at The Rails. The first wasn't the best, well let me tell you, thongs have changed. The food was so flavorful and the peppercorn sauce was to die for. We had a table of 10 and it was such a smooth night. I am glad I gave this place a second chance, well worth it. I will be returning to this wonderful, flavorful experience.

We went for an intimate wedding reception. Brooke was our server for the evening and was so wonderful and very accommodating. We had a bit of a time crunch and dinner was served in an enough time for the family to leave and have pictures at sunset. They even accommodated the party returning for dessert after photos completed. The groom has many specialty allergies and Libby (manager?) was able to work with the chef to create an entire menu. They even went so far as to have dairy free ice cream to go with the best peach pie! The manager for the night checked on us multiple times to make sure everything went smoothly. We can’t thank the restaurant staff enough for their hard work. To top it off, they created our own menu for the evening for us to take as mementos. All the food was delicious and very fresh. Thank you for a memorable evening!!
