I drove three hours and waited an hour for them to open...others were waiting too. No show Jones!

Simply the best Mexican food I have ever had in my life. We drive from Colorado Springs CO just to eat here!

The food was amazing and the service was even better! It’s cash only, so be prepared. But man, it is SO worth it.

El Farolito was recommended by our Air BNB host in Abiqui, NM. Very small town and restaurant but run don’t walk to go and experience this amazing New Mexico Mexican food! As good, probably better than any TexMex we’ve had in Texas and that is a serious high rating! Only 6 or 7 tables, but the owners are so kind and the food was simply amazing!!

The best green chile I have ever had! Great family owned restaurant.

Definitely nothing to look at, located in a very old & tiny (maybe 5 tables) adobe building in the heart of El Rito (what's left of it)...but the food was great! We ate there twice in 1 week. Everything we had was very tasty...chiles rellenos, chicken enchiladas, tacos, stuffed chicken/bean sopapilla, beans, rice, sopapillas with honey. Everything is made from scratch by 1 guy & the only other employee is a girl who takes your order & money, & answers the phone (they do a big takeout business, mostly locals). You walk up to the counter to order & pay, & choose your drink from the cooler. Everything is served in takeout containers (even if eating in). Prices are excellent, especially for fresh made food. The menu is mostly northern NM cuisine, but is more extensive than you'd expect considering the size of the place. Generally open 1:30-ish to 7:30-ish Wed-Sun. You can eat a generous portioned meal for $10-12 or less per person. We will definitely be back!

Been coming here for years. It’s a multi generation mom & pop restaurant, family oriented, people know each other. Green chili chicken enchiladas are to die for. Definitely worth the few extra miles off the main highway

Had heard they’d had the best green chili burgers. Fantastic! Also have to have the soapillas
