I have now been to Turtleback 4 times, with my experience worsening all but one of these times. My first time, it was my birthday. I came with my partner to have a little treat and wanted to have a meal and some cocktails. When I walked in, the bar was mostly empty with a 4 top of diners who seemed to be finished eating. I was ignored for 10 minutes and then approached by a bartender who seemed confused about my presence when she asked what she could help me with after ignoring me for 10 minutes. I politely asked for a menu, which I felt was an odd thing to have to do while waiting at a table in a restaurant. I waited another 15 minutes while a second bartender clocked in and then was told by her that they were out of the beverage I ordered. No biggie, but not sure why it took 15 minutes to tell me. She made me a different drink and it was tasty. At this point it had been 45 minutes, and I decided I was better off not ordering food (not that anyone attempted to take my order) because I knew I would just end up disappointed. The second time, I decided to give them another chance at redemption. I sat at the bar with two friends and we were GLARED at by a male bartender as though we were intruding on something. My friends and I all looked at each other uncomfortably and he eventually asked what we wanted to drink. Again I politely asked for a drink and food menu, which was not offered. How bizarre. We felt so uncomfortable sitting at the bar, we got up after placing our orders for drinks and sat at a table. We decided not to order food for the second time and left after our drinks. The third time I was more or less dragged by a different friend who really wanted to try the food. I said fine, so we dined in at the bar area. We actually had very good service this time and the food was good, I really enjoyed my chicken wings and our server was attentive. I felt this experience redeemed the Taphouse to a degree.Monday night, every restaurant in town was closed so we ordered takeout from Turtleback. I knew I liked the wings so I ordered them, a Caesar salad, and my partner got a burger. I do not know what kind of atrocity happened in that kitchen that night, but I will never be giving money to this establishment again. My chicken wing sauce was miscolored. It looked like BBQ when it was regular hot wing sauce, but I thought maybe they just overcooked it or had a new recipe or something. I was wrong. Someone must've spilled 5 pounds of pure salt into the sauce- I'm not kidding- as it was SO salty that neither of us could eat more than 4 wings. The caesar salad was more of a Caesar dressing soup with some Romaine on top and a pound of cheese (not complaining about the cheese part). It was literally a wet paste because someone put a liter of salad dressing on it to the point that it was SWIMMING. I could've squeezed enough dressing off this thing for 10 more salads. I truly do not know how either of these items left the kitchen. What I do know is that I laid awake for 4 hours having heart palpitations and severe bloating from the 10,000 mgs of sodium I likely ate with that meal. My heart rate was rapid and all over the place and I felt short of breath. I have no health conditions yet I felt dehydrated for a solid 24 hours afterwards. I seriously hope nobody with hypertension got within a 10 foot radius of this place Monday evening. There is a SERIOUS quality control issue in their kitchen that needs to be addressed.

The food is always salty! So friggin salty. Both times, I informed my server that the dish was over salted and couldn't eat it. They say thank you for letting them know, but I still get charged. This place is way way over priced and the food is not even subpar.

Our first night in the area, my girlfriend and I tried Turtleback Taphouse, anticipating a gastropub feel, with an extensive beer menu (it's in the name, right?). What we discovered was a restaurant wanting to offer an upper-scale dining experience. Perhaps we should've chosen to eat in the bar area, because we were the only ones in the dining room. Our server was very cordial and attentive, but a little stiff, which added to the weirdness of our experience.I got a beer, while my girlfriend got a hot toddy, which was quite good. However, we were taken aback at the menu choices, as they were pricier than expected (having a typical taphouse in mind). I got a burger, which was good, if unexceptional, while my girlfriend got their vegetarian option, timbale, which was also good but portioned quite small. We ate at night, so we didn't get to enjoy any of the views. And from the website, it seems that the place is undergoing a shift in 'dining experience.' So maybe we just caught them in the growing pains.

You notice when this guy gets a good review (few) he always tells the person how much he appreciates the comment. But when the review is bad he has NOTHING too say

Great views. Friendly service. Best fettuccine alfredo I've ever had. Freshly brewed iced tea. Save room for dessert!

Recommend eating here for the views from the balcony that overlook the golf course. My favorite would be the philly cheesesteak. It was super cheesey and packed with flavor. Also the green chili stew is outstanding. Great and friendly staff. Highly recommend trying.Parking: Plenty of parking spots. Parking will not be an issue.Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair friendly and accessible.

So glad the restaurant has opened again and happy to patronize the Sunday breakfast buffet, which is wonderful. As a 20-year vegetarian, I decided to try a burger, and it was fantastic--hand pattied and juicy. On the downside, the hand-cut french fries weren't available because the cutter was broken--FIX IT. This would have been the best meal ever with those fries. Soup was posole, and it was even better than what i make. I've heard negative reviews about some of the dinner items but can't comment until I try them. T or C needed this restaurant--let's hope they stick around awhile.

Tried their breakfast buffet this morning. The food was good, and cooked well, pretty expensive for what it was. And the view is superb.
