La Cocina used to be one of our favorite Mexican restaurants we used to stop by on our way to Taos. On our last trip I had the shrimp which were a disaster. This time it was the Taco salad. While the filling for the salad was outstanding, the shell was inedible. It tasted like it had been fried the week before. Service - excellent, drinks - wonderful, atmosphere - welcoming, value - reasonable.

Classic New Mexican cuisine served in a pleasant, clean, friendly environment - highly recommended. My wife and I dined on the Green Chile Stew and we both agreed this is one of best (if not the best) we've tasted in New Mexico. A very generous serving of flavorful pork chunks along with potato and carrot pieces in a rich, spicy broth (not too spicy!) along with the 2nd best homemade flour tortillas (Duran's is the best) I've tasted in New Mexico. All this, along with 2 light, sopapillas for about $20 is an amazing value. Totally delicious and I will demand a return visit to La Cocina anytime I'm passing thru Espanola

True authentic New Mexican food. Food is always hot and delicious. Atmosphere is welcoming snd service is a 10/10. You have businesses that have managers that are “do as I say, not as I do” and then you have La Cocina where Javier is a true leader, setting the example. He’s out delivering/serving food to the tables, greeting and engaging with patrons, working just like his staff. It is easy to see he manages well because this business doesn’t have turnover in staff like many others have. You are greeted by familiar faces time and time again. You will not be disappointed by visit this restaurant.

I had a very pleasant experience today. I like to take myself on little dates, and this is a great place for that. Alejandra, my waitress, was very kind and very prompt. The rest of the staff is wonderful as well. The food is great, very flavorful. I will be returning.

My husband l🥰ves the 💚 Chile stew ,as he does Many other dishes.Green Chile stew though is the go to at la Cocina . As for me It just depends on what I'm craving. I love that you can order avocado 🥑 on the side and they always hook it up I love it with my breakfast .La Cocina has some really good breakfast options which I 💕 just overall a great place to take the family to eat for holidays and birthdays but laso for a romantic one on one dinner or evan a family night out.Or even a business lunch , it's also so good for carrie out/take out which I love for the days I don't feel like cooking after a long days work sometimes I don't feel like cooking but still want that home cooked meal that's when la Cocinas delicious great green Chile stew and sopaias come in with some red chile ground beef shredded beef or chicken what ever you like I normally go for the ground beef red chile you can also get ♥️ chile 💚 Chile or Xmas 🎄 Which is both ♥️ and 💚 which is highly recommended by many New Mexicans and even out of towners everyone loves new Mexico's Chile everyone I know anyhow hope this review helps

The pozole is fantastic. Their red sauce and green chili sauces are the best in class of both worlds. Be sure to get them on the side as the heat level varies. Their lamb options are delicious.

The red chili enchilada was very good. The sopapillas were served cold, but tasted good. The employees are not very happy…no smiles! The bathroom had not been cleaned today.

We are here for breakfast. The food is always amazing but the service from the guy with glasses is terrible. Not once did he check on us. And when we needed something he kinda got annoyed with us. Gave attitude when for our boxes and check. If you do come make sure you get another waiter. All the other staff was great.

While on vacation we stopped to have lunch here. The atmosphere and service where great. Our waitress was wonderful. The salsa was spicy. I ordered the Flauta Plate. The Flautas were great. My dad ordered the Huevos Ranchos. He said his was also good flavor, although he did not like the jalapeños on top, as it made it a bit to spicy. The sopapillas were high and really good. The sopapillas come complentary with the meal. Over all, a good place to eat.
