Low key eatery with traditional Navajo food.We stopped whilst on a road trip to Santa Fe, opted for the mutton and corn stew. The flavours were exactly what I anticipated: sweetness of the corn and meatiness of the mutton were delightful.Navajo bread was delicious!Opted to drink a cup of Navajo tea, which helped digest the food.Parking: Plenty of parking option at the back of the Main Street.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly

This place is the closest you'll get to having home cooked Navajo food. Prices are a little high, but the food is really good and they have good portion sizes. Frybreads are hugeThe staff is very friendly.

They were only accepting cash so I had to go to the atm to get cash on my lunch break. When she handed me my food I looked in the bag and there were no napkins, no utensils, no salt… I asked for those things. What do you think people who order to go do? We are usually eating on the go or at work! My stew came with a huge bone which barely had any meat. I was disappointed in my visit today.

Mmm, so good! The service is kind and caring. The accommodations are simple and spare — with Diné radio playing in the background. And the food is sooo nourishing and delicious. We had fry bread tacos, steam corn stew, and blue corn mush. I loved it all and the fry bread was perfect! One of my favorite meals I’ve had in a long time!

This place is so authentic, it’s just a total vibe. Navajo radio playing in the background with pictures of children on the wall, feels like grandma is cooking.Food is delicious, can’t go wrong with fry bread tacos.

I am sure they have their own reasoning for serving French fries instead of fried potatoes. Potatoes are potatoes but with native food. Just my thought.

Folks come from all over the region to this place because it's stable, reliable, and folks don't mess around—unless you want 'em to.I'll say this: if you know you don't like mutton, fry-bread or other Native staples, go to Popeyes. But if you're down with grilled Diné glory, you'll be right at home here.No Texans involved so nothing is smoked to death or dripping with disdain. —Fresh-grilled squash, cabbage, red onions, mutton, and greasy-greasy fry-bread.—Though if they ever venture into other culinary disciplines to see what happens, I will try the snot out of it.All my nostalgic buttons are mashed here.Atmospherically you can expect flickering lights (sucks, but totally normal), lackluster facade and interior decor—but still adorned with family photography that's totally magazine-worthy. —Which: if you know—you know.In the background you hear Tribal Radio (100.1'ish?) with news spoken in Diné—which makes even outsiders feel at home and adds a humbling awareness for non-Diné folks.Ren, Shay, and everyone there makes it feel like you're talking to your brother/sister, etc.To paraphrase Rez Dogs: If you're not a sh!t-a$$, you're more-than welcome.Come here if you want human food made by humans, and a feeling that leaves you feeling a part of something older and bigger than yourself.—No others need attend.

Our Tripy Life

If you are in the area and looking for some fry bread this is the place to go. We got here as they were getting ready close up for the day, but they welcomed us in with a warm smile and made us a great lunch to go. I had been craving fry bread all day and this Sheep Herder Sandwich really hit the spot.
