Great Portions, Great Homemade Food, and Great Price. Pancakes were wide and fluffy and the toast was 2 full well buttered slices, just enter and sit anywhere and you'll be served.

OVERALL *** Iron Skillet is a staple for homestyle cooking in Southeastern New Mexico *** RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4 PARKING Free ample parking in a half-paved, half caliche lot. LOCATION/AMBIANCE This restaurant is adorned with iron skillets of all sizes, cookie jars, and metal signs on the walls. When you walk in, choose your own table. At the end of your meal, they will bring you a ticket. Pay at the register where you walked in. THE GRUB Iron Skillet is probably fine for lunch, but they aren't open for dinner to my knowledge. This establishment is known for its country breakfasts. I recommend the biscuits with sausage gravy. Their pancakes are huge and fluffy. My youngest daughter lives the iced cinnamon roll drenched in hot butter. Their house coffee is good and slightly bold. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUBThey do not offer a kid's menu. SERVICE Sometimes they are quite busy and a little slow to get menus to you, but after that they are very friendly and attentive. MY FAVORITE PART... This place is unlike any in town. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... I heard this place may shut down. There's a for sale sign out front. For Hobbs' sake & the folks who have worked here for so long, I hope this place stays open for many more generations with a few minor improvements.

Excellent place to eat a country breakfast, coffees hot and the food is hotter. They are fixing to go out of business so when you go you might be the last ones to eat at this amazing restaurant.

The food here is delicious, but it is seat yourself and there is no sign telling you that. Food comes out very disproportionately time wise. Half of our table was completely done eating before the other half even got their food. We'd split into two tables beside each other in order to get seating and alerted the waitress. One table got their food 30 minutes before the other so we had to go wait at the park next door. Since you can't put your name on a list anyone who walks in can just cut in front of you even if you've been waiting in the front. That's why we finally opted for 2 tables. They definitely need some type of ordering system and seating system, but if you can get a table the food is good.

Good isn’t too tasteful, it’s eatable but there’s no love put into the way it’s cooked. I see potential but they’ll have to do better with better cooks…
