Hidalgo Medical Service (HMS) leadership has provided numerous explanations for the high turnover rates among staff and providers. Despite their attempts to deflect responsibility, the facts are clear: physician turnover ranges from 6-7%, while for advanced practice professionals, it stands at 10-15%. These figures, according to AI data, reflect the current market realities. Often overlooked is the fact that organizations typically regain lost providers unless they fail to remain competitive employers. Providers often thoroughly vet potential employers, relying more on peer reviews than the CEO's claims. A series of concerning issues have plagued HMS, including sexual harassment settlements, insurance settlements, letters of no confidence from providers and county commissioners, the loss of the family medicine residency program, failure to meet commitments to senior centers, the collapse of the crisis triage center, and the inability to provide mobile units. These are just a few of the major failures. HMS leadership continues to exhibit a pattern of program failures, unsubstantiated claims, and blame-shifting. Community members, who are taxpayers, deserve quality healthcare, and providers and staff have the right to a safe working environment. The trauma experienced by many of HMS's current and former employees is often minimized by the leadership. Contrary to any claims of oversensitivity, HMS employees are hardworking individuals dedicated to providing excellent care to their patients. Unfortunately, it appears that the primary focus of HMS leadership is ensuring a $270,000 annual salary for a CEO who has consistently underperformed.

HMS Is Being Managed by a Thug. He's a Terrorist and he has the Majority of the employees Scared to Voice the truth

I think HMS is struggling and for many reasons. Staffing is a big issue, experienced staff is difficult to come by in a small town and there in lies many of the issues. On a nationwide basis rural towns do not attract Doctors, medical staff or administrative staff which puts medical services providers between a rock and a hard place. Experienced medical staff, nurses, nurse practitioners, doctors etc. gravitate to the cities and wealthy suburbs, 'there are more doctors in Rio Rancho than all of Silver City'. Healthcare is exacerbated by long waits, it's 6 to 9 weeks to see Dr. Stinar, he recently moved to HMS, he has his own office in town, he is our only pulmonologist. On my most recent visit I saw a nurse practitioner, there is only one doctor on the staff at HMS, he starts the first week of December this year. My question concerning not being able to see a doctor is; who is supervising the nurse practitioners? Who over sees when the prescribe a medication or change a medication? They are all supposed to be supervised by a Doctor. I became concerned about my A1C, it's the number for sugar blood levels, mine has been in the 6.5 range for a long time, I take metformin to help with the uptake of sugar. And I don't diet. So I had a copy of my past blood test and I had a new blood test waiting for me. The person I saw did not look at my past test to compare them, I did not see the results of the new test while we were talking, I was told that my A1C was 6.1, my triglycerides were high and that my other numbers looked good. Then several days later, late in the day I get a call from someone who says you need to do something about your blood sugar level, this is high, that is high and your anemic as well. Thank you very much I know all that because I have copies of my blood test. I did not receive any consultation, I was not referred to a dietician or a real doctor, I was pushed out the door by a person who acted professional but did nothing in the way of caring for me medically. I asked her renew my metformin as the nurse practitioner who wrote the prescription is no longer available, 'the staff turn over is amazing, no one last long' they leave and no one pics up where they left off with patients they have been seeing. So I received a concerned phone call several days later after the visit, meaning the nurse practitioner failed to do her job and the staff was trying to do catch up. As it is you can not get service and you can not get the care and medicines you need without being proactive. HMS is trying out new and expensive innovation and they should be spending the time and money on education, and I don't mean on the job training. Soon you will be seeing a High School Student about your diabetes and HMS will be billing for a Doctor's appointment.

Why don’t you tell the truth HMS? Tell everyone how you really conduct yourself. Make certain to bring up the CEO is a vile human being who bullies women in the workplace and if they don’t welcome his advances, he makes their lives miserable or finds reasons to fire them. If you don’t believe, look up the article, court dockets regarding his unethical conduct. And the board of directors still retained him as a CEO for whatever foolish reason. They can run but cannot hide from published articles. Run, don’t walk away from this organization at all costs!
