Great spot for brunch. Food is very reasonably priced with a more upscale video to it.

I've lived in Albuquerque my whole life and only just discovered this place a year ago. Tasty breakfast options, kids and friendly staff, clean, location is great- and typically you can count on live music in the small corner of the restaurant. They have a beautiful patio set up during the summer months.

Edited: I'm giving an extra star because, after this posting, the owners contacted me via and refunded the money spent on brunch. I very much appreciate this gesture and will be giving them another try.The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. It has an old-school, vintage vibe. For brunch, there was a guitarist beautifully playing relaxing music. Unfortunately, that's where the niceness ended. I ordered the steak and eggs. Everything tasted as if it wasn't seasoned, the steak looked sickly grey and was over-done, the eggs were so under-done that half of the whites were clear. My friend ordered the French Toast and it turned out to be very soggy. On top of all that, our waiter was so inattentive that we did not get our cards back for 15 minutes after the check had been picked up.My advice, stick to their steakhouse, Vernon's.

Came here for my mother’s birthday. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. Some items were delicious and some items were okay. Overall we had a great time and highly recommend for a fun brunch spot.

Sat down for about twenty minutes and weren't even given water or a menu. Sorry but being ignored is not something I would expect from a nice looking cafe. Didn't try the food so I won't speek on that but I hope for the future they learn to train their staff better.

Santa Brunch - HUGE disappointmentSteep price of $25 a person but it's Christmas so hey... it's worth it right? We arrived on time to be told we would have to wait 30 minutes for our reservation. Excuse me, what? So the manager tried to make it right saying we would get 20% off our bill. We stayed positive and made the most of our wait. They sat us in the back and gave us a tour which was cool. Then I saw the Santa. Obvious fake beard. You know how sensitive this can be if you're a parent. These people are about to ruin the magic of Santa with poor execution. The worst part is Santa went outside to his car and my husband had to quickly close the curtain and distract our son from seeing him. Still... I remained positive. The food arrived! This should make up for our experience so far.. or so we thought. My son did not like his "berry stuffed French toast." Why? Well there were NO berries and umm it was not stuffed. Bread was not high quality. My huevos rancheros was a joke. I would've preferred Frontier any day of the week to this tasteless meal. Green Chile wasn't even Chile, it was green sauce. Come on! We are in NM and this is a local restaurant. How do you get this wrong? When I asked for a corn tortilla instead of a flour tortilla, I was told no substitutions could be made. This was the terrible considering huevos SHOULD come with corn tortilla and I have a gluten intolerance so I asked for it on the side. I didn't even eat it... wasn't worth my calorie waste. My husbands posole was the size for a small child and he mentioned the $4 food truck food was much much better. The whole Santa brunch was a disappointment— $25 a person was just a ploy for money. Poor execution on Santa. Food menu was nothing to be proud. Poor management taking more reservations than you could support in a reasonable time period. The service was superb and I don't fault the staff, they were great and this wasn’t their fault. However, we will not be back.

Great ambiance and service from Aaron was very good.It was our first time visiting here and we were looking for somewhere local, so we stubbled upon Cafe 6855.We were impressed with the ambiance and decor, live music, and very comfortable chairs. We ordered the BLT with Avocado and Ham, which was delicious, and the Smothered Burrito. The Burrito had excellent green/red chili flavors, however it was a little salty for my taste and. I discovered an inch long metal bristle stuck to one of the potatoes, which I though may have come from a metal brush, I brought it up to Aaron's attention, who was very concerned and took the issue to the kitchen immediately. It turns out it came from the sack the potatoes come in. Phew, that was a close one, I could have chocked on that thing. We found out while there, that Vernon's Speakeasy is in the same spot and that the cafe is modified to the Steak House in the evenings, which we intend to try. Maybe no potatoes next time! All in all we spent about $40 including tip which we thought was very reasonable considering the experience and service. I recommend this location to anyone wanting to depart from the normal restaurant experience.Parking: Not a lot of parking in front of the restaurant, but there are more option a little further back.

I made a reservation for 12 people Sunday morning but we of course ended up with 15. The staff immediately switched gears and accommodated us (they really didn’t have to). Our server Aaron handled our group and he was the most polite, attentive overall pleasant young man. The food was great and we felt very taken care of. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Loved the coffee, French toast with bacon. Aaron was a great server. The atmosphere is relaxed and upscale at the same time without being stuffy.

Decided we wanted to try a new place for breakfast. Oh how I wish we went to one of our usual spots. First off the decor is dated and they can't decide if they want to be cozy or edgy. The black walls from Vernon's are present (hate). Then they have edgy modern artwork that doesn't fit with the black walls and red curtains. The bar has a piece that looks like it came from hobby lobby not fitting in with the modern artwork or speakeasy black walls. Our waitress was very nice and present. Unfortunately, the food was a complete let down. My entire breakfast plate was cold, cold chile, unmelted cheese, cold hash browns. The plates we ordered were supposed to come with beans but our waitress informed us that they weren't ready yet. They arrived later when everyone was almost done eating only to find they were stodgy and undercooked. My husband compared them to cardboard. Such a disappointment because the area is great. I would not recommend nor would I return.

I visited for the first time for lunch with an out of town friend. I'd heard great things and was not disappointed. The cafe was quite busy and seemed short staffed, but the service did not reflect it. The shift manager, Audrey, stepped up to assist and sat us, waited on us and was incredibly attentive throughout our visit. She gave us the history and a tour of the nearby speak easy as the crowds died down.I loved the patio; it has the perfect ambiance with a water feature, plenty of shade to enjoy the cool fall weather, and live music! Our food and drinks were amazing. Everything was tasty and perfectly portioned. My only regret is not saving room for dessert.Prices are competitive with other places in the vicinity, yet the food and services were top notch. This place has quickly made the top of my list and I will be back. I am also looking forward to a special dinner at Vernon's in the near future.

My true rating would be 2.5, because this restaurant was mid as all get out. My husband and I have been to Vernon's before and we had a great time. We even came back less than a month later with my in-laws and we all enjoyed our visit again. During one of these times I signed up for the email list and that is how we ended up at Cafe 6855 for their Halloween brunch.TLDR: Mediocre at best. Drinks were good. Food was the blandest I've had since returning to the SW from Ohio in March. Service was poorly paced. Overall waste of our Sunday brunching time.Deets: It was a pre-fixed menu with a per person levels at $35, $20 and $10 (for kids), reservations require. The meal: When we arrived we were seated promptly but our server was slow to get to us and slow through out (bad pacing). We ordered the 2 drinks from the bar (both delicious), the asparagus con carne and the deviled eggs. We knew this would be bland as hell when the yolk mixture in the eggs showed up looking wet and heavy with absolutely no spice but the chili sauce, which my husband got on the side. He loves deviled eggs and was so happy to see them on the menu but extremely disappointed in the dish he received. Papas were simply diced & fried potatoes, again without seasoning of any kind. The sourdough toast only came out after we asked for it, no jelly/jam and only the slightest dab of butter. My asparagus con carne was also underwhelming. The carrots were my least favorite part, tough and just kinda there. The asparagus was nicely cooked but neither the asparagus nor the meat was seasoned. I didn't expect much as I'm not a fan of NY Strip steak but when they said marinated I though it'd be flavorful. I was wrong. Also, we didn't receive in costume discount, but at least we got to wear our Halloween gear. Overall, a very disappointing experience and with all of the tremendous dining options in ABQ, I highly doubt we'll be back.
