The Mine Shaft Tavern in Madrid is a fun stop along the Turquoise Trail. It's one of the best venues for catching local bands and the historic atmosphere gives it a unique charm. Plus, it's just steps away from some great local museums and art galleries, that make the visit even more worthwhile. The menu looked impressive too — we came for the music and already had a dinner plan so I didn't get to try their green chile cheeseburger. Next time!
Great place to stop and eat, you might even get there and find some local bands playing!
The food was excellent, and the server was knowledgeable about the town and gave me some good recommendations for local arts and crafts. I would definitely take this back route to Santa Fe just to stop here again!

Best stop in Madrid; authentic Southwest experience. Lots of seats. We were able to sit without a reservation. Good sized menu. Happy with our choices. Band setting up on a large stage, but couldn't hang around to wait for them to start.....
