Wanna escape your life even for a few hours?There is always a slightly mysterious but very casual and funky groove not only to Madrid but definitely the Mineshaft Tavern that will take you away from the doldrums. Throw in the excellent food, ales, and wandering musicians matching the vibe and you have yourself a right little mental vacation. Be patient with the service-this is a small town and they will get to you. Love this bar and the escape it gives.

We went on a busy Sunday afternoon. I loved the multiple seating options, inside, outside, on a deck, but an old train! There was a fund raiser going on for a Parrot Rescue and the fun colorful birds added to the cool environment. Our server was very nice. We waited a bit, but it was busy. No big deal. I had the Blackjack burger and it was OK but the fries were undercooked and cold. My husband had fish tacos and he enjoyed them. Just an fyi: the locally made root beer...
