I believe they are struggling with staffing. The menu was very abbreviated and quality was not what we had the last time we were there a year ago .
1 of 2 two places to eat at the Ojo Caliente resort. Excellent food and service. Very good and you are pretty much captive. Had the New York Strip, wine, soup, and salad. All very good and tasty. Service was great. It will be remembered.
Incredible service and outstanding meal. We were fortunate to have Ivan as our waiter. He was nothing short of awesome. Enjoyed the Blue Corn Muffins as well as both our entrees. Bison Short ribs and their Tamales!
Excellent service, Annie was great. The food was good, the place was lively and had a good selection of wine and beer. Overall a good experience for dining onsite at the spa.
Staff was friendly and service was terrific. The salads from the local garden were so good. I enjoyed the chili relleno with quinoa tamal and my husbands short rib with potatoes was very tender. We also enjoyed the breakfast burrito the next day, it was also very good and huge. Overall I would definitely go back.
My best friend and I ate here after soaking at Ojo Caliente, and it was the perfect way to end a relaxing day. The food was delicious! I ordered a salad with salmon, it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. We also shared the tiramisu for dessert, and it was absolutely amazing. Our server was fantastic friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. Definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the area!
Edit : Employee /manager apologized and was going to comp the order (which I didn't really want. I just wanted the food) . Then changed her mind and argued with me and accused me of lying about placing the order at 10:50 this morning. Since their system showed it at 12:40. She was adamant that 40 minutes past due is not unreasonable so she wouldn't comp. (again just want the food) . We canceled the order.
Attached is the proof that it was ordered at 10:50 as I said it was.
Service is ridiculously slow. Don't bother ordering online. We ordered our lunch 2 and a half hours ago online and we have currently been sitting here in the bar lobby for 40 minutes waiting for our food that was supposed to be ready at 1pm. Meanwhile people sitting at the bar who ordered 15 minutes ago already have their food. It is unfortunate that there are no other options anywhere near here. I'm probably going to drive 45 minutes to Sante Fe for dinner to avoid dealing with this nonsense again.
Edit. They didn't even bother telling us until 30 minutes after the food was supposed to be done that they were out of the flatbreads so they couldn't make my wife's order anyway
Highlights: food poisoning, terrible service, long waits, expensive, bland and unimpressive food. Also randomly closed early.
While staying at the resort, which is 30 minutes away from any other food, we ordered food from the wine bar/restaurant to go as the restaurant is always booked. From the moment of stepping in it is over crowded and poorly attended. The employee in charge of take out orders (woman with red dreadlocks) was incredibly rude to everyone who came in contact with her whether prompted or not in both outright and passive aggressive ways.
When ordering we were told a 20 minute wait and to check back in at that time frame. We checked back in in 30 and they said 20 more minutes. We checked back in after an hour after ordering and they said 5-10 more minutes meanwhile we have seen people that were behind us in line not only get their food but completely eat it, have a drink and leave. We would not have minded the wait had they been honest as we could have waited elsewhere but instead had to choose between getting eaten alive by mosquitoes outside or being squished and sitting on the fireplace inside.
The bar also randomly closed an hour early for no apparent reason and was unable to inform if the restaurant was closing early too.
The food was barely lukewarm when we got it, bland, my beet salad did not include what it said it did in the menu and was not of the standard advertised as artisanal and locally grown. The steak though was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the only exception to our meal of four dishes and an appetizer.
My husband is violently ill from eating there which has effectively ruined our stay at the resort. I also do not feel well, and generally have a stomach of steel.
Some stuff was amazing and some stuff was really a miss. Overall, drinks- ok, salads- okay, chile relleno- BAD, poblano fries- good at first but then greasy and felt bad, fajitas- good. Blue corn piñon pancakes- AMAZING. I wish there was more consistency or alternative options in town. The wine bar sometimes had a different menu and sometimes was the same as the sit down place so again- consistency
been coming here for years, this year wasn't as great as before. the new falafel sandwich was very good, but the buffalo short rib was awful. dry, gristly. barely edible, especially in comparison to the beef short ribs that used to be on the menu.

The lamb is superb.
This restaurant is absolutely incredible, do not pay attention to the losers leaving bad reviews. This historic restaurant is phenomenal and one of a kind. The food ambiance and service is impeccable.
The spa and the pools are wonderful. The location is lovely and picturesque. We could not have asked for a better experience. We also had lunch and dinner at the restaurant. Most of the dishes were great but a couple were just okay. We didn't love our cocktails either. Overall, it was a great day and I would definitely return again.
The local choices are tasty and give a wonderful sampler of the regional foods. Having greens from the garden on the premises gives them a delightful freshness. The host was very gracious in changing our reservation time to a later hour to give us more time to soak in the pools!
We've always liked the Artesian, but this time was disappointing. My pasta was missing ingredients, the salad we ordered was not as described, and the rice was inedible. Not sure if we'll be back again.
