The spa and the pools are wonderful. The location is lovely and picturesque. We could not have asked for a better experience. We also had lunch and dinner at the restaurant. Most of the dishes were great but a couple were just okay. We didn't love our cocktails either. Overall, it was a great day and I would definitely return again.

The local choices are tasty and give a wonderful sampler of the regional foods. Having greens from the garden on the premises gives them a delightful freshness. The host was very gracious in changing our reservation time to a later hour to give us more time to soak in the pools!

We've always liked the Artesian, but this time was disappointing. My pasta was missing ingredients, the salad we ordered was not as described, and the rice was inedible. Not sure if we'll be back again.

Food was pretty good, and the creme brûlée was excellent. Rather pricey though and I was taking my friend for her birthday, and they didn't do anything special even though I confirmed they would prior to the evening.

We got a wrong drink but we never asked to switch because it was fine. The staff were busy and seemed stress. This is the only place to eat in the hotel and some of the food were out. If the hotel has no vacancy and this is the only restaurant within an hour drive, the management should have stock up and prepared. There are only 2 waiters and a bartender that has to do drinks and taking care of take out which there were some since most people doesn't want to wait to eat after 8pm and tables were all reserved

Very pleased with the restaurant during our stay. Food was very good and a surprisingly good value considering it is the only place at the spa. We had salmon, beet salad, fish tacos, several breakfasts, and an exceptional burger. Wine and beer selection was good and service was friendly and efficient. Bar service was slow and not a priority, but restaurant a very good experience.

We ate here as part of a three day/two night stay at Ojo Caliente. The entire experience was amazing. My friend I split the trout and Caesar salad. The trout along with the wild rice and roasted carrots was some of the best food I've ever had. We split the salad (the dressing definitely had a kick) and we each had the house Sangria. Most definitely recommend!!!

The dining experience was outstanding! Since we were lodging at the resort, we ate breakfast every day and enjoyed appetizers and dinner every day Last night, we had lobster Mac n cheese for our app, which was amazing! Followed by, the NY Strip steak and garlic mashed potatoes. Best steak I've ever had So sweet and tender! Desserts are not to be missed!

The food was wonderful. I had the chicken mole which was so good. My husband has the carnitas which he just raved and raved about. The chocolate cake at the end was truly the icing on the cake.

I am a local and has visited ojo a couple of times. I visited the other day with my sister and decided to get a quick bite after our soaking. It turns out we had to wait for a reservation for 3 hours and we still had to wait 15 minutes after our reservation. Desipte the slight inconvenience, we would have to call Gordon Ramsay on this restaurant. The service was extrodanary, would be nice for our waitress to ask what we would like to drink before we ordered, but it was a busy night so it's understandable that she might have forgotten. We received our muffins first and they were delicious, though very dry.
We ordered brucetta and when it came out, the presentation was phenomenal, when eating though, it was quite difficult. If you were to bite it, it would spill the mountain of raw tomatoes everywhere, and if you were to use the fork and a knife that they provided, it will still spill everywhere. The tomatoes and wilted greens on top were overwhelming.
I ordered the chicken fajitas expecting a safe option but was very disappointed. The chicken was weirdly sweet and obviously frezzed and the bell peppers were not chopped evenly. I decided to use some of the bland guacamole and unspicy salsa and that barely improved the dish.
My sister ordered the carnitas, also expecting it to be a safe option but we both have each other a side eye when we saw how overall red the sauce of the meat was. We don't care about Red 40, but this dish concerned us. The carnitas were also weirdly sweet and the raw calabasitas were odd.
The waitress would occasionally check up on us, asking if we enjoyed our dishes and we didn't know what to say as to not make her feel uncomfortable for something she has no control over.
We were very disappointed for the price and we had asked for boxes and the check shortly after being greeted with our food.
Would not recommend, though if you're extremely hungry and didn't have the time to buy snacks from the stores in Taos or Espeñola, I guess there's no other choice.

I have eaten here for lunch before, and I remember it being decent. Something must have changed during the diner service. We made a reservation and had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation to be seated. I got the bruschetta, and I haven't tried it before, but it looked like someone wanted to get rid of the rest of the tomatoes for the night, it was a mountain of raw tomato. The waitress warned us that the food would take a while, and I don't mind waiting for good food. I got the Carnitas and it wasn't anything like actual Carnitas besides the type of meat used. I understand if they want to be experimental for tourist, but carnitas don't typically come with a red reduction and bland flavor. The pork was juicy, but that is the only compliment on the food. If you only try to please tourist, you will lose a lot of local's interest. Hot cocoa was also good, but it is hard to mess that up. I just expected good food, especially for the high price.

We ate here for dinner and breakfast and found the meals to be pretty underwhelming. We found the negative reviews for the food to be similar to our experience, and we hadn't looked at any reviews beforehand, so had felt unbiased by others. Sad to have came to the same takeaway.

There seems to be lots of flavor missing from the dishes we explored, the breakfast was by far the most bland and unappealing. Scrambled eggs and tofu were absolutely flavorless, and the hash was missing any sort of taste. Seems like the sweet stuff was a better hit than the savory, so maybe go that route if you're expecting bug flavor.

As for our dinner, the Cilantro-lime dressing for the salad was waaay too sweet and had no citrus or herb flavor, the pozole on the special needed salt to even have another dimension than just the green chile spice, and the pomodoro was pretty mediocre. The sauce for the chicken mole was a decent blend of richness and spice, but it would've been better with while chicken rather than the same shreds used in the pozole.

Service made up for it a bit since they were kind and accomodating.

Overall, it was a bit disappointing for our expectations and hopes. Probably wouldn't eat here again though options are limited if you're staying on the property.

This was our 4th time to have dinner at this restaurant, not including our breakfasts. It is a big reason we choose to come stay at Ojo Caliente! The menu is always interesting and fresh and the service is excellent! Thank you , to Susan the manager Delinda Ruffino

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at The Artesian Restaurant. The food and service was exceptional and they happily greeted us with “Happy Birthday”. I definitely recommend dining here.
