My husband and I found ourselves in Pecos on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Brian was an exceptional host and the food was something that dreams are made of. I have been planning the quickest way back from Wichita Falls, TX for the extraordinary Green Chili Chicken Casserole since we left! I'm thinking that 489 miles isn't too far for brunch!!!! Do yourself a favor and make the trip!
Delicious New Mexican food in a great, historic environment.
You definitely have to stop by Frankie’s to eat some delicious authentic New Mexican dishes.
My family and I had the carnitas plate with Christmas and Red Chile enchilada and French toast. Everything was amazing as well as service!
Thank you to the owner who was checking on all guests at each table you and your staff where great!
Frankie’s at Casanova is a must-visit spot when you're in Pecos, NM. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a clean, well-kept interior that retains many of the building’s original features that add charm and character.
The food is great. Portions are generous, and everything we tried was delicious. Whether you’re just passing through or staying in the area, Frankie’s is definitely worth the stop for a satisfying meal in a welcoming setting.
We stop at Frankies at least once (usually more than once) every time we are in the area. Great spot!
Mountain road trip? Stop here you won’t regret it! The vibe is awesome, the people are sweet, and the food? So good. I’m a breakfast fan, and let me tell ya: massive plates, tiny prices. Do yourself a favor and pull over!
Good service, nice calm environment, accommodating for a vegan with celiac disease
A hidden gen in Pecos! A nice place for good food!
Eaten in a few times and also gotten takeout
Food is well seasoned, classic, hearty New Mexican food, everything Ive eaten has been a solid comforting meal... just wish they had some spicer chile options than their regular. The building is beautiful, historic, has a cozy mountain cabin vibe.
However the service is hit or miss, mainly miss. The times I've eaten in, their servers were completely disinterested/unfriendly, we waited forever for our food and had to ask multiple times for refills. One time our dishes had been obviously sitting for a while bc they arrived cold and we wanted to say something but the waitress dissappeared until our check. She did apologize when she gave us the check and her excuse was that it was busy, however it didn't look too busy to us and there were other wait staff just standing around the register area.
I used to be a server myself and just think maybe there should be better training or better communication between the wait staff/ kitchen.
Overall I think this is a great local community spot and I'd like to continue to support but hopefully their service team improves.
I was here because of a lunch meeting; I never would have chosen this broken-down dump. Service was terrible, and when I paid, it got even worse. I was at a table of 4 and charged a specific tip because of a "large party." I refused to pay it. If they would relax, I would tip more! I tipped ten on 30 (paid for 2 people...5 each). How's that? Give people a chance to be generous and cease this practice. Also, a friend ordered and 30 minutes later, with 3 attempts to check on it, her omelette never showed. [THIS IS ACCURATE, though the owner wants to dispute it). From her order time to finally getting the order properly placed, was 30 min. Who cares when she cane in? The last time she checked, the waitress had a deer in the headlights look and then went in and placed the order in the kitchen. It was never ordered. She ate alone after we were finished.
The place was busy and they just cannot function with hectic atmospheres, I guess. About 3 orders were completely wrong. One: a stated vegetarian asked for no meat, or bacon, specifically, and her dish had 2 huge pieces of bacon covering the food (not even on the side)!? The solution? They took it right off and gave her the dish. It was good she was not a Muslim or Jew...
The owner says there were too many changes. I am doing a review and I ordered AS-IS off the menu. Carnitas, with corn tortillas...no drink ordered, not even water. I had zero modifications. I got flour tortillas. 10 min later, I got the corn, when more than half finished.
Whatever. I will never visit again.
PS, the parking lot is a potholed combo of gravel, dirt, and dead grass.
Have fun if you go.
The owner's response is ludicrous. I was at a 4 top. I happened to know the people celebrating a birthday at the other table. I am talking about my experience. Rating me back...for what? Leaving tip equal to 1/3 of the bill? This shows the service plan right there.

A nice dining room, and very comfortable atmosphere. We went for breakfast and the Huevos Rancheros dish was yummy! Their coffee/latte options were excellent too.
