Food was okay. Very little BBQ in a bbq sandwich. Very basic sandwich that tasted meh. Their Italian sodas are just sprite with a little flavor.

While driving through Portales, we found ourselves at Sweetwaters at Landalls grabbing some goodies. It was our first time visiting this establishment…AND for the future, it definitely will NOT be our last time!! We had such a fun time meeting Landall, Monique, and other members of their team. Everyone was so nice, personable, gave great menu recommendations, explained the history of the restaurant, and overall made our short stop there such a wonderful and memorable experience!!! The Huckleberry ice cream is AMAZING and we had the very kind opportunity to try the Legacy Sandwich and Tomato soup. FRIENDS!!!! This is what sweet dreams are made of…goodies from Sweetwaters!!! Highly recommend stopping at this wonderful restaurant - whether it’s for a sit-down meal or just stopping by to take it ‘to go’ - you won’t be disappointed in the delicious food, the fun stories, or the thought-provoking signs!!!💙

Ordering at the counter on my first visit, the staff could not have been better! Great service all the way around. I had a smoked chicken salad and the chicken salad itself is next level. The salad itself is fresh and tasty but presents logistical challenges. lol. The lettuce and greens are shredded as for sandwich topping, and served in a moving styrofoam container that moves in the plastic basket the container is in. So focus on the scrumptious tastes if you get the salad. I also had beans & cornbread and would recommend it. Ice cream on a waffle cone for dessert - perfect!

Wow! This place is small, cozy and inviting, but Not tightly packed or crammed inside. The customer service was wonderful. Very kind, very attentive, and in no rush to hurry me out the door, and I saw them take the time to treat every customer this way. I did not wait long at all, although I would have happily done so. The restaurant and its menu are filled with history, paying homage to local food history as well as giving honor to the achievements of those that have flourished from within the community. The food here is fantastic. I ordered the legacy sandwich and it was.. wow. I should have ordered two; one to eat and then one just to carry around in my pocket. Weird, I know, but you just don’t understand. Haha. The bread was soft and warm, the meat was thinly sliced, and the dressing was mmm, I don’t have words. They have a ton of home made ice cream flavors, And you will want to try every single one! And guess what, they’ll let you if they’re not too busy. I’m telling you this place is a must stop for anyone from anywhere. Easily broke into my Top 5 places all time. The atmosphere + the people(and the service they provide) + the food. There are not very many places like this that I have found to exist. An experience you would expect to have on vacation, but just on a random Monday afternoon. Do not miss out on this place.

Good food & nice people

I have visited this place twice and I was impressed both times. Most of the photos on Google maps didn’t do justice to show the neat and unique types of decorations inside. When I arrived on my first visit I just had to stand there and take all of the decorations in for a few minutes and enjoy the the setting. I ordered coffee the first time and ice cream the second. I will be back for a meal next time. The workers were great, prices were reasonable, and the location was very clean too.
