While driving through Portales, we found ourselves at Sweetwaters at Landalls grabbing some goodies. It was our first time visiting this establishment…AND for the future, it definitely will NOT be our last time!! We had such a fun time meeting Landall, Monique, and other members of their team. Everyone was so nice, personable, gave great menu recommendations, explained the history of the restaurant, and overall made our short stop there such a wonderful and memorable experience!!!...
Ordering at the counter on my first visit, the staff could not have been better! Great service all the way around. I had a smoked chicken salad and the chicken salad itself is next level. The salad itself is fresh and tasty but presents logistical challenges. lol. The lettuce and greens are shredded as for sandwich topping, and served in a moving styrofoam container that moves in the plastic basket the container is in. Wow! This place is small, cozy and inviting, but Not tightly packed or crammed inside. The customer service was wonderful. Very kind, very attentive, and in no rush to hurry me out the door, and I saw them take the time to treat every customer this way. I did not wait long at all, although I would have happily done so. The restaurant and its menu are filled with history, paying homage to local food history as well as giving honor to the achievements of those that have flourished...
