We visited this place based on the high reviews. We were very disappointed. The ambience does not exist. The food is very ordinary, the location is few miles out of Taos. I do not know why people give such high rating to this place, when there are plenty of options with great tasty food?
Do not go there.

The food was excellent and so was the service! My husband got the stuffed sopapilla and loved it. I got the chicken enchiladas and they were superb!
It was very good. It was so good we had to come back the next day for more. Great atmosphere, easy parking, (there is additional parking at the front of the church next door), and they had some outdoor seating. The prices were reasonable, service was excellent, and the food, well, like I said, we came back for more.
Amazing people and Amazing food! The authentic food brings back memories of my Grandmother.
I highly recommend coming here.
Wow, finally Mexican food with flavor. Tamale, cheese enchilada, relleno were all good, and the taco was actually great. Beef fajitas had good flavor. Lunch portion was perfect, came with 2 flour tortillas. A little slow on the holiday weekend. Single bathroom at the bottom of the restaurant floors.
If you are looking for an early morning breakfast filled with old world charm and divine intervention, this is the place. Located off the plaza and adjacent to the massive adobe buttress of St. Francis of Assisi Church, made more famous to the Western World by photographer by Ansel Adams and painter Georgia O’Keeffe, the Grill is part of the same construction which took place more than 200 years ago. Passing through the arched gateway into the outdoor patio belies the forthcoming experience of its inner sanctum. The various salas (dining rooms) are defined by thick adobes walls, painted yellow gold walls, white vaulted ceilings with dark brown vigas (wood beams) and ceiling heights no more than 10-feet. The most captivating architectural feature are the narrow 6-foot-high doorways which allows you to pass from sala to sala. Without hesitation, I had to have the breakfast burrito: two scrambled eggs with sausage all rolled in a flour tortilla topped with cheese, tomatoes and lettuce, as well as pinto beans and potatoes on the side, and of course the obligatory red chili. At 8 am, this delicious meal goes well with black coffee. Taken all together, the savory cuisine, spiritual ambience, and delightful waitress, it is a heavenly delight everyone needs to experience. At an altitude of 7,000 feet, this is how you levitate your soul to have a flavorsome day!
The foot is absolutely fantastic, the red Chile sauce was incredible and our entire family was go smacked by the sofapilla. Highly recommend the Avodado plate
They forgot our order. Finally seved an hour after those behind us. Miserable. Good food when it came. Hottest was kind and apologetic but still...
Spend $20, for the main dish. No chips and salsa. You have to pay for it. Won't go back. I worked in a Mexican restaurant chips and salsa are like glass of water for the expense. Lost myself and anyone I can inform.
We stayed very close at the Adobe and Pines Inn and the owner recommended this place as one of his favorite restaurants in the area. We agree. I had the stacked grilled pork enchiladas and I can honestly say I've never experienced so much flavor in an enchilada! They make their own red enchilada sauce and I will never enjoy enchilada sauce anywhere else ever again. This was the best I've ever tried.

My favorite place for New Mexican food in Taos. The Adovada enchiladas are my favorite dish, and everything is delicious. Great chips and salsa as well. Worth going out of your way to eat here, and worth the short wait if there is one.
Great road trip stop on the way back to Denver ◡̈ Tasty salsa and sopapillas. Great service too! Recommend sitting on the patio
Great people and food- you must try the flan!
A quaint out of the way place for breakfast. The staff was very friendly the service was efficient and the breakfast was very good. A nice selection on the menu all very reasonably priced. Eat here and then visit the plaza.
