Just passing through town and staying the night. Los Chanquis was recommeded by the receptionist at the hotel and let me say it was absolutely on point.
I had the enchilada, taco combination plate and it was great. The service was great. A wonderful family setting put forth by an equally wonderful family.
I had a terrific conversation with an outstanding young man behind the counter who took our order. We enjoyed the meal so much we told him we would be back in the morning for breakfast. He told us his family would not be opening the restaurant because they will be supporting him in a big playoff football game. Now that is a fantastic family.
GOOD LUCK YOUNG MAN!

Excellent address. Friendly and authentic places where you eat good food and drink good beer! Everything is homemade. You can even see at the back of the restaurant the workshop where the beer is made!

There was no AC or wind per say so it was hot in the place. It took quite a while to get out food but to our surprise the food was GOOD!! Despite those 2 things, we would still go back and eat there. Would recommend :)

This Mexican restaurant in Raton, New Mexico, offers an exceptional dining experience. The food is outstanding—expertly seasoned, perfectly spicy, and wonderfully satisfying. Every dish was crafted with care, leaving a lasting impression of quality and authenticity.
The service, however, is what truly sets this restaurant apart. The owner displayed remarkable attentiveness, going out of their way to accommodate our service dog and ensure that my daughter felt comfortable and welcome. Their genuine hospitality made the experience memorable, and we look forward to stopping here each time we travel to Colorado.

Delicious food! I definitely recommend the machaca tortas and sopes. The servings were large as well so you will definitely leave full. All the food tastes really fresh and is seasoned perfectly! I would love to go back whenever I am in Raton.
