The staff were rude very, very rude. It was a horrible experience. I will never eat there again. even when trying to order our food, we were rushed

Wait was ridiculously long. My order wasn't right, and when the husband got water and syrup they made it as if he was complaining when in reality he was grossed out especially being that he put it on his food you could literally see where the syrupand water separated 🤢. Will not be going back village inn went down hill since childhood and it's unfortunate 😕

Howell About No

Our server was nice but very slow, if you asked for a condiment, your food would be cold by the time she brought it. Eventually we just got up and asked someone else and they grabbed it for us immediately.

Restaurant was freezing, it was cold outside and they were blasting the air conditioning for some reason?

The food was suffering. The chicken fried chicken had a weird oil, burnt taste, like the frying oil hadn’t been changed in a while. The mashed potatoes also had a really weird flavor, I couldn’t eat them. The soup of the day was clam chowder, it was so gelatinous it had the texture of pudding. The biscuits were pretty good.

The patty melt was very bland and more like a burger but the buns were replaced with barely toasted bread. Not sure why they don’t toast the whole thing together, like in a panini press or on the stovetop?

The pies were ok. The lemon meringue pie was the worst, the filling was (again) WAY too gelatinous which made it really unpleasant to eat. The pecan pie was decent and the peanut butter cup pie was pretty good.

Unfortunately wouldn’t come back, thought I’d give it a try but disappointing.

The food really sucked. Dry eggs. Dry hash browns. Overcooked sausage. Corned beef Sandwich that you couldn't find the meat.

Our waitress was a sweetheart, and the food was on point as always, but the cleanliness of the restroom was disappointing. If I would have gone in first and seen what I did, we would not have stayed for food. If the restroom was that bad I would hate to see the kitchen. This was super disappointing because I really like VI.

The food was good. Hashbrowns were cooked nice and crisp on the bottom. I asked for over medium eggs and got eggs with runny white. The server, I believe Erika? was not great. She was polite but took about 5 minutes to greet us when it wasn't busy. She didn't put my husband's side order of onion rings in. I had to ask for strawberry jelly twice. The cranberry juice she brought out was warm. She didn't offer us refills and checked on us once while we had our food. We were able to hear her talking bad about her coworkers in the kitchen and we are thinking that's why she didn't have time to check on us. Overall I'd say $46 for two people was not worth it.

Has been consistent for years. Good food, great service, good value, worth what you pay. Home style american food. A go to place for breakfasts and the free slice of pie each Wednesday. Atmosphere is nothing special but clean and comfortable, efficient for fast service. Can get crowded.
