We went during a slow time but our server was attentive. The salad bar was definitely worth it. The steak was perfection and the environment was relaxing. We couldn’t finish our plates so we certainly got our monies worth. I would stop by again if I’m in the area.

What an amazing experience after a terrible day of travel. I never meant to be in Roswell, but here I am! I went to cattle baron after a hotel and driver suggestion. I was immediately greeted by a host and here cute family who was visiting her. I was promptly sat, then had just the most wonderful service you could ask for from Bobbie. I had the suggested bacon wrapped grilled shrimp appetizers and the filet mignon and baked potato. A chocolate cake to finish it off. Everything cooked to perfection. My server and the meal made my terrible travel saga into a worthwhile and memorable event. Look forward to making an excuse to come back. Thanks Bobbie!

One minor picky complaint with this place, everything else was fantastic!
The minor complaint: I was disappointed with my salad dressing, which was made in house and was very oily without enough other flavors to overcome the bland oil.
The rest of the food was delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and the service was prompt and polite. The steak salad was delicious and came with a generous amount of steak--I would just recommend getting a different dressing rather than sticking with the default.

Beck was our server tonight. She has a kind soul. She was attentive to our party, and had a sweet conversation with us. My 14 year old son even commented on how nice she was.
Editing to add: we are relocating and have eaten at the Cattle baron several times each week for the last 3 weeks. It’s frustrating that the food is never timed properly. Every single time, someone has to wait. Last time it was my youngest. It was about 10 minutes from the time the first plate came out until his did.
Tonight we did an order over the phone. They were over 20 minutes late preparing it. One meal came out and sat for 10 minutes while they made the second dish we ordered.
Dinner menu is extensive and excellent. Selection of steak options, (variety of types and sizes), is really great. Each steak cooked to perfection, excellent flavor. Baked potatoes unfortunately were not good, overdone and blackened on the outside, nearly raw in the center. Mashed potatoes with brown gravy were excellent. Dessert menu is short but we found a cake to be very tasty. Salad bar is a steal at only $4.95 added on to an entree cost. The salad bar is huge with an abundance of choices. It includes not only greens but macaroni salad, potato salad, beet salad etc. I tried seven or eight different items, everything was very fresh and tasty, server said it was all made on site. Two soups are offered as part of the salad bar. I tried four in total and found myself wishing I had the recipes to make them at home. Staff is friendly & helpful, easy to talk to and glad to help with any questions you have. This was a really nice find for a sit-down dinner in Roswell. Never felt rushed, it was nice to sit and dine.

Service was great. Waitress was great. Me and my wife ordered 2 chiltons each. Chiltons were excellent. For the food. Wife ordered burger and fries, they were both excellent. I ordered a ribeye and baked potato. They were out of baked potatoes at 6:30 pm on a Saturday night. I was notified about this when they brought my steak. I told them to bring me broccoli instead. I got my broccoli 10 minutes later (literally, I was done with my steak). The plate with my staek had a hair in it. I took the steak off of the plate and put the steak on the empty plate that the bread was on. I gave plate with hair to waitress, and we saw her tell manager. Manager never even came over to address the issue, or even apologize (bad management, if you ask.me). We also ordered sautéed mushrooms. They were good, but not served hot. Usually they are simmering when brought to table. All of food was served warm, not even close to hot. It definitely sat for along time before it was brought to us.
