Okay so first, the atmosphere gets 4 stars. It would be three but their patio is wonderful! Could even be considered beautiful especially if they clean up and plant pretty plants and flowers in the little boxed in spot with weeds growing in it out there. Other than that, the inside is restaurant-esque but it's inside the mall so it kind of takes away the "restaurant" feel. The initial service was fast and friendly in my one experience though I have been told it takes a lot of time usually. At the end of the meal we asked our waiter for a box for the rest of our food. In that we had some remaining queso and I had to get up and go ask for a lid they didn't think to bring us one.The food - great! I got the half sirloin quesadilla. They have an array of salsas that are all fantastic! As I mentioned we ordered queso. When we were ordering I pointed up at the menu and said I wanted the chips and queso. She said they had two quesos and asked which one I wanted. Her knowing it was my first time didn't specify between the two so I asked. She said one was a white queso and the other was like a yellow nacho cheese queso. I asked for the white queso. She said it was "a little bit more" and asked if that was okay. I didn't inquire further on the price and said that's fine assuming it would be a few dollars more. We got seated and she later came out and told us that the white queso was frozen and so I wouldn't be able to have it. My initial thought is why would it be frozen You've been open for hours and knowing that you do have it, and it's on your menu, why wouldn't it had been prepared for the day? Anyway I said all right and opted for the yellow nacho cheese queso. She ended up bringing us out the difference in price which was $7 bringing the white queso to 11.99 instead of 4.99 on the menu. I'm sorry but that's not "a little bit more". Lastly I would have liked to have an actual plate for my quesadilla. In the video I posted you can see that the tray spins so when I would go to cut and eat my food it would move all over the place which was a little annoying. If I were to take it off the tray then the food would go all over the table because it was just on a cardboard cake round. Also they only brought us one set of silverware maybe that was just an accident or did they assume that quesadillas are eating with fingers only or something? Anyway, when I go back I will just request it go on an actual plate and make sure they know I want to use a fork with it. I will definitely be back It's very good food!

Open early on Sundays! I have not lived in NM since 1992, and La Salsa reminded me why I miss and love New Mexico cuisine so much! Amazing food, friendly staff!

In this Moment

It brought back memories of a place I used to eat at in AZ. I was so excited to see chimichanga on the menu. Call it my fault or feel free to add how you might've handled this. In fine print it says the chimi is served on soft tortilla. In my opinion that is then called a smothered chicken burrito. Now back to the chimi it is wrapped in a tortilla then fried. I've never been to a place that offers chimichangas in soft tortilla. So I let them know. We should've walked out at that point but I still ordered a chimi. I will never return here. The "manager" was rude about it. She didnt offer any type of credit. She was like a brat. You know the people that are just greedy. Thats how this young woman presented herself. It seems like a popular place but I think and believe customer experience is much more important. Sorry but not sorry.

Food and the waitress was great, but the down side- make sure the hostess or whoever is in the front see’s you because we checked in, got our name down and we got looked passed by.

When I first started coming here, I didn't expect much since they're in a small town mall. But I was pleasantly surprised how good the burritos were. However I have to say this last visit today was a major disappointment. I got two burritos and both were very underwhelming. Neither one had very much meat and the flavor wasn't anything like I expected.

My aunt, uncle and I ate here and it was the most disgusting food we've ever had, we each took one bite of our food and spit it out, one bite of food tasted like it had our daily value of sodium, it literally just tasted like salt and chili powder. None of it was edible and when I took our tray to the counter to complain they didn't listen and just asked if I wanted boxes, I had to reiterate that I was complaining about how bad the food was. Do not eat here, if you want good Mexican food recommend Taqueria Jalsico at Hobbs and main, I haven't any bad food from them.

Everything tasted like they just boiled it in water and added the hottest peppers they could find to mask the zero amount flavor. Seems to be a common thing in NM. Service was pretty good though.
