Sara's Mediterranean Café & Grill

The chicken in the shawarma had an off taste and did not seem fresh, which raised concerns about food quality.

When I go to a Mediterranean restaurant, I expect pita with hummus and tahini, not a tortilla wrap. Using a tortilla completely changes the experience.

I specifically asked for the lentil soup to be hot, but it arrived lukewarm and below an acceptable temperature.

It was also noticeable that local or repeat customers were served before us, which made us feel overlooked. As visitors and not locals, we felt we did not receive the same level of service.

Hopefully, the restaurant learns from this feedback and uses it to improve, as better consistency and customer care would go a long way in supporting their business.

Overall, this experience was not worth driving into the city for and fell short of expectations.

The food is way better than it has the right to be on the middle of nowhere New Mexico. I had the lamb shank and it was wonderfulllu tender with a great spice blend. The humas and dolmas were tasty, and I even liked the falafel, which I normally don't. They make everything in house. They are also very attentive, maybe too attentive as it seems every employee working came by to check on us. Well worth eating at.

My son and I can in from Texas to tour Roswell. I’m vegan so he found this place for us with many vegan options. I’ve eaten Mediterranean foods all over the world and found this to be the best I’ve ever had.

Visited Sara’s during an overnight stay in Roswell and I can’t recommend it enough!! Lots of options for vegetarians, meat eaters, and halal diets alike. We met Saleh, one of the owners, who was so hospitable and was lovely to talk to. It was really cool to see a Mediterranean spot in Roswell and we thought everything tasted delicious and authentic. The lamb shank was juicy and fell off the bone, the lentil soup was warm and hearty, and the chicken shawarma wrap rivaled the big city spots. It’s worth staying for dessert as well, the knafeh is great to share and has a heartwarming backstory, and the baklava was a perfect end to the meal. Very happy we chose to dine at Sara’s for our one night in the town!
