A friend suggested Chihuahua Restaurant for the Friday special Quesabirrias. It's a deep fried shredded beef quesadilla served with a "soup" for dipping ... OMGosh! Might be my new favorite meal!!! The chips and salsa were fantastic too! And nice service. 5 Stars and we definitely recommend this restaurant!!!

Great authentic food. Chips and green chile salsa were so fresh and flavorful. Chicken mole was tender and seasoned perfectly. Best tamale, the masa was just right. The staff was friendly and attentive. We will be back.

If you were faced with the sadness of a last meal--this would be the place to have it. Service was spectacular. Food was stupendous. Everything was very high quality and done right. We went on Taco Tuesday and had four different tacos, and all were wonderful. This place serves the REAL thing. Don't come here expecting some sort of tex-mex fusion, as you will not find it. Street tacos done right, just like you would find south of the border. Get in here!

Had the green chili burrito and it was very good. The portions and prices were very reasonable. Nice, little cozy place.

I love the menudo& pozole here, and they have the best birria tacos on Friday I wished they served them everyday. We always get the best customer service with Shayla

I wanted badly to love this but worse wanted hubs to love it. Because I don't like his fave place in town for green enchiladas and this place tue prices are good. First problem is the steak quesadilla wasn't steak. It had a LOT of picadilla or the stuff that is on tacos and enchiladas essentially ground hamburger meat. The meat was very watery and it ended up eating like a burrito. The teen didn't love it but ate half. The green enchiladas were good per husband but the filling was SO watery that it was like soup. I have to admit. Sadly. He was right. It caused the plate to have a decent layer of oily water. He ate it though. I had steak nachos. They were pretty good but a couple of warnings. The steaks chopped and I got a couple of chunks of gristle but that didn't stop me but did cause me to spit out a couple bites (not pretty. I used a napkin tho). What was weird was she asked if I like jalapeños. Pickled jalapeños should be on nachos so I said of course. I ordered extra sour cream (which was in a Daisy package) BUT omg omg the jalapeños were chopped up in little cubes and Buried in my nachos and RAW. Satans snack. Hot. Like my mouth caught on fire hot. The kind of good but too hot that had me digging to remove the peppers from within the bowels of my nachos and cheese. I did a decent job and ate about half but every once in a while I'd eat one and sit there with my tongue in my iced tea like a dork. My kid said I was a baby because he loves spicy, very spicy food. Made him eat a chunk and he coughed and said "ya. That's pretty spicy. Not bad" while he broke into a sweat. So the nachos were the best thing we ordered. Had actual chopped up steak which quesadilla should have had, but SKIP JALAPEÑOS!!! Unless you like them pissed off l, raw and hotter than hell. This used to be the khrome restaurant. Waitress was kind but like everyone, they are understaffed. She was the only waitress tying to serve 7-8 tables.

Where's the button for 10 stars? This is authentic Mexican food with different flavors of salsa. I love hot/burn your mouth salsa. The red has it. The green taco sauce has a great flavor and the garden salsa is perfect for chips and or tacos. My wife (super Caucasian) said the food was amazing. And YES that matters. My only complaint is that the food was too good. No offense to the Tex-Mex restaurants in town. Chihuahuas, take my money.

We visited Chihuahua restaurant during a non peak time and the food was excellent as was the staff who cooked and served us. The green sauce brought back memories to me of a place that closed 20 years ago. We ordered the taco platter and split it between 3 kids and myself. We still had leftovers for our midnight snack later. I could die a happy man right now after eating this meal. So good!

Excellent, authentic Mexican food. I had the 4 Tacos plate (2 Al pastor and 2 Barbacoa) which came with beans and rice. Good flavor and quality. My wife had the enchiladas plate (2 green and 2 red, also with beans and rice). The Chile sauce was excellent. Good flavor and heat (not to too hot...just right). Best Mexican food in Ruidoso!

Small place very friendly. Food was very tasty. I had the Gordita and husband had pork dinner both were very good. Nice flavor but not super spicy. I'm sure if you asked they would happily spice it up. Very reasonably priced.

Speaking as a tourist from Texas. Hard to find, hole in the wall, small. Great menu, large variety. Ordered cheese enchilada plate. Expected lots of cheese inside. Only got a sprinkle in each one. Only middle. Red sauce way too spicy. Beans good. Out of most desserts.

We came here for a Friday lunch/dinner. The food was great, we had gorditas and enchiladas that all had good flavor and were quite delicious. The waitress and staff were both kind and hospitable. The only problem we had was that we were only 4 with 1 child and we're charged a $14.00 gratuity, something that seems a little odd for the size of our group and should have been mentioned beforehand. Just FYI on this charge.
