We recently ate at the Cornerstone Bakery & Cafe in Ruidoso, NM and the experience was awful! After reviewing our credit card bill, we were charged an additional $10.00. The bill I was presented with (and signed) was for $43.52. However, they charged us $53.52. We left a cash tip and put a zero in the tip space. Apparently, they put a 1 in front of the zero. That is out right fraud! Also, the food was average and the owner was very rude and loud when confronted about the lack of guacamole on a dish that was highlighted as a sandwich with guacamole. You also need to pay attention to the additional charges that they add on, i.e. water. Who charges for tap water? They also do not pay attention to egg prices, they have gone down, yet you still have a egg surcharge. Definitely will not return there, nor will I recommend this place to anyone I know.

Idk what a crepe is but was good. And the price was good too! And I had a weird cookie thing, pure visual vibes.

I visit this place every time I am in Ruidoso Downs. They have the most amazing desserts and cheddar green chille bread! I've only dined in the restaurant once, for breakfast, and it was phenomenal! I hear great things about there lunch. Definitely add this to your places to stop by!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Ruidoso! Their food is good, fresh ingredients, and a good mix of standard recipes and more imaginative ones. People who don't like to try new things and people who do could eat a meal here together and both would be happy. I also love their outdoor seating area. I'm from Texas so the cool dry air in Ruidoso is so pleasant. The service is always good. I eat there 2-3 times a week when I'm there.

I can’t believe I’ve never written a review because this is my Ruidoso fave. If you’re a fan of fresh, healthy and upbeat you have to go. This last trip we found they were not in their usual location and I was very unhappy to think they’d closed. But they have a new, larger building as fitting for their reputation and popularity. Love it!

My faves- the chicken salad, croissants of course and luckily they come together in a sandwich. I also like their salads and the green chili potato soup. Try the combo, 1/2 sandwich, small salad and cup of soup! FYI, you can buy frozen croissants ready to bake for a very reasonable price!

This is more than breakfast, it’s a blessing. We were in Ruidoso for 3 days and ate at Cornerstone every single morning. The Rio Rancho Huevos Rancheros with Christmas Tree and fresh Pinion Coffee? Unreal. Every bite was perfection. The staff, even better. The cook/owner greeted us personally each day with a smile and a kind word. You can feel the heart of Ruidoso in this place, resilient, welcoming, full of grace. Pro tip: grab a menu ahead of time, know your order at the register, and do not skip the bakery case on your way out. Trust me, it’s worth every calorie. Great gluten free options! In a town that’s been through a lot, Cornerstone is a shining example of why we keep coming back. Support them. They’ve earned it.

What used to be a quaint bakery is now breakfast for 2 for $50. People are herded lake cattle. Now the owners are directing outsiders to buy their gift cards to “give back” to people in Ruidoso. No. No one needs an $18 egg and toast to make things better. The people need money not a greedy business owner steering profit to him again and again.
