I ordered two enchiladas to go with the green sauce on the side. What I got was 2 flat tortillas with cheese in between and no sauce. I also witnessed the waitress get chips out of their plastic container with bare hands after using the cash register. With noroviris and everything else going around that is so unsanitary. I remarked to another about it and they said they had seen the same thing. My order was to go. I called and said I had ordered the cheese enchiladas and explained what I received. I was told they only roll enchiladas if they put sour cream on them. Seriously??? I ended up throwing all away and making my own dinner. Will not be back.

All around I was not a fan. It smelled like sewer when arriving which should have been the first indication not to eat there. I ordered the chili relleno and the chili was still raw and hard like it had not been cooked for any time at all. The beans and the rice were both in a pool of water and did not taste good. The salsa that came with the chips was out right bad. I ordered a michelada and it hardly had any flavor or spices. I would not recommend.

There are quite a few Mexican food restaurants in Ruidoso, so choosing can be hard. I'll make it easy and say, "Choose El Camino Nuevo". This well established, family owned and operated restaurant has consistently good food and service. They have a nice bar and reasonable prices. Win, win.

El Camino Nuevo catered our Christmas party this year and the food was absolutely delicious! We had tacos, green and red enchiladas (cheese and meat), chips and salsa, beans, and rice. We received so many compliments from our staff about the amazing food that we won’t hesitate to ask them to cater again. Thank you so much for working with us, we appreciate your restaurant and will be supporting it any chance we can get!
The food was just ok. The salsa verde wasn’t good, to me. I got a cheeseburger which was standard. My other half got a taco plate. Which was “just ok”. Our server was very attentive. They didn’t have booth seating, which is something we prefer, although not a deal breaker.

Food was fabulous, staff did a phenomenal job, very clean and comfortable atmosphere.Vegetarian options: Cheese enchiladas were a great option. They added onions and Cilantro for me, with an egg.
