This is our go-to spot when visiting Ruidoso, but on our last visit, they wre closed, with no sign mentioning they were going to be closed, even though the website said they were open.

We were recently in Ruidoso for 2 nights. We had travelled up from Las Cruces after visiting friends. We went to Grill Caliente the first night we were in town; we were so impressed by the food, service and the friendliness of the staff that we went back a 2nd night! Our waitress was named Bella. She was top notch. Very warm & welcoming smile and a highly organized waitress. Dallas was also working the first night we were there. I believe he may be a manager. He was also very pleasant to chat with and gave us some great local off-roading and hiking tips! We didn't meet Mary the chef, but that is where the rest of the magic lies. You must try the Fried Chile Rings for an app. What a treat & not as spicy as you might think. Lightly battered and very crunchy when you bite in. For our main course, the steak and pork tenderloin were prepared perfectly! The NY Strip Skillet Entree was top notch. Quite a bit of heat, but we're from Texas and we like some heat! And the pork tenderloin medallions were spot on as well. Seasoned just right! A nice wine menu to compliment the meal! We didn't save room for dessert, but I imagine the dessert options are exquisite and would round out the whole experience. We'll save that for next time! Until the next time, Grill Caliente!!

My bf and I went to have breakfast this morning and the white bald guy with glasses (I believe is the manager after reading the rest of the reviews) was racist towards us, he basically kick us out. My bf wasn’t even finished with his plate when the waitress came to pick up our plates and gave us the check. It was my first time experiencing something like that, I was in shock and confused because I didn’t know what we did wrong. If you’re a Latino don’t come here, it is highly you would be treated badly.

My girlfriend and I were on a date for Valentine’s Day and definitely we got the wrong place, the manager (bald white guy with a hawain shirt who told us where to sit just throw our menus to the table and left, then he told to our server to remove our plates before we finished and send out out check without asking for it, definitely the most racist experience we ever had

We were so happy to find an open establishment on a Tuesday night in Ruidoso during our visit- many places were only open on the weekends. The owner visited our table to make sure everything was going well. He had the bar make a margarita to our personal specifications:) Food was delicious, including the recommended breaded deep fried chiles! The menu prices were reasonable, especially for a tourist town. If you are looking for a place to eat in Ruidoso, don’t hesitate!
