This place is a gem. Solid straightforward food and excellent service. Took my mom and her friends here for her 85th birthday (tried getting in at the Lodge in Cloudcroft but they have some serious scheduling issues). Parking is a pain but it is in most places on a beautiful day in downtown Ruidoso. The covered patio outside was perfect even though it's on the main drag. And my first buttermilk pie - stellar! Service was top notch. Helpful, attentive, thoughtful... It was just great and my mom and friends loved it. Wish we had this place in San Diego. I'll be back next time I'm out. Thank you!

Insanely good. I had their Chicken Salad Sandwich and Cream of Asparagus soup. They were so good. I also ate their Blueberry Cheesecake and Buttermilk Pie. Even though I thought the employee was overselling the sales pitch for them. I was wrong... and the pies were even better than advertised.

Employees were super kind and attentive. You order inside and they ask if you're sitting inside or outside. I sat outside and they brought silverware and offered water to my dog. They were on it with refills and clearing plates. Ample seating outside and inside- and I went on a Saturday afternoon. The pie was also delish, and the soup sandwich combo was just the right amount! You pay the check after the meal. Would go back here!

Literally doesn't get and more picturesque than this place. Perfect setting, delicious food options, great customer service. Every trip is not complete without a piece of pie, 10 year tradition running strong! We enjoy it so much we had to buy a t-shirt lol.

We had the lunch soup and 1/2 sandwich with the best strawberry lemonade. Tomato soup was so fresh and delicious, I truly would love the recipe. We shared a piece of the award winning buttermilk pie! All the desserts looked like winners! It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed our lunch on the shaded deck. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely will return on our next trip to Ruidoso
Green Chile stew was more like tomato stew. Family of 4. Kids got Mac and cheese and chips, was mid. Caesar salad was mid. My husband's sandwich was the best of the lot. Service was fine. Bathroom toilet was sketchy. Pies looked amazing but didn't get any so no idea how they were. Maybe we just picked the foods they aren't known for and other stuff is better.
