In February 2025, we visited the Buckhorn Tavern in San Antonio, New Mexico. It is a quaint restaurant, just off of Interstate 25, towards Las Cruces, NM and close to Truth or Consequences, NM. The food was absolutely delicious. Buckhorn Tavern claims to be the 7th best hamburger restaurant in the United States, based on independent reviews, and I completely agree. The decorations were cleverly displayed and we enjoyed eating in the outdoor patio. The restaurant was also crowded and had a wait list, showing that many other people have also figured out the high food quality. This was a delicious and fun experience, and I highly recommend Buckhorn Tavern in San Antonio, New Mexico.

I cannot believe how terrible the bookhorn is service is absolutely horrible. Their food is disgusting. do not order the Mushroom green chili, open faced burger, horrible.

Despite the fame, the burgers here are still superb. Don't plan on a speedy meal if you go at popular times. My favorite order is a buckhorn burger with a side of onion rings. The Green Chile can be spicy, so beware.

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The owner and his staff are extremely friendly. Food was fresh made and quick to come out despite how busy they were. Next time I go I’m definitely buying a shirt to take home with me.

On our way to Las Cruces, stopped to have lunch, our mom ordered taco burger with green chile, three tacos 🌮 delicious and fries were fresh homemade and, the green chile cheese burger 🍔 was amazing 👏 we stopped by again.

If you want a great burger, have one here! They grind their own beef, and it makes a tremendous difference!!! Their onion rings are awesome too! I have friends that plan their trips around being able to stop here for lunch.
