In February 2025, we visited the Buckhorn Tavern in San Antonio, New Mexico. It is a quaint restaurant, just off of Interstate 25, towards Las Cruces, NM and close to Truth or Consequences, NM. The food was absolutely delicious. Buckhorn Tavern claims to be the 7th best hamburger restaurant in the United States, based on independent reviews, and I completely agree. Despite the fame, the burgers here are still superb. Don't plan on a speedy meal if you go at popular times. My favorite order is a buckhorn burger with a side of onion rings. The Green Chile can be spicy, so beware.
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The owner and his staff are extremely friendly. Food was fresh made and quick to come out despite how busy they were. Next time I go I’m definitely buying a shirt to take home with me.
