We have been dining at Prairie Star for many years, even driving there from Santa Fe before we moved to Bernalillo in 2013. We have never been disappointed in their food or service all these years but I think they are now at an all time high in both issues with their new chef. We dined there in June for my husband's birthday and again in July for our anniversary and Saturday we brought some friends visiting from Colorado and they were more than delighted. The consistency of the visits are what what we are most impressed with. All the servers have been outstanding (sorry I can't remember all their names) but Ronda was our latest server and she was outstanding. John and Jean Luther

This is just an outstanding restaurant. We had a wonderful view of the Sandia Mountains, golf course, and Bosque. Very attentive staff and excellent meals.

Prairie Star is always excellent. The location is beautiful. The Mountain View and hummingbirds add to the joy of Prairie Star. The food and wine are always delicious. The Wine and Dine is a weekly opportunity to explore new flavors. The service is on spot.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience – Wine & Dine at Prairie Star is Pure Magic! I can't say enough about the Wine & Dine Prix Fixe dinners at Prairie Star Restaurant & Winebar — it's easily one of the best dining experiences in New Mexico! From the moment you arrive at the historic estate overlooking the rolling greens of Santa Ana Golf Club, you know you're in for something special. The ambiance strikes that perfect balance of rustic charm and upscale elegance. But it's the food and wine that steal the show. Each weekly prix fixe dinner is a thoughtfully curated journey — multiple courses of seasonal, chef-driven creations, each one artfully plated and perfectly paired with incredible wines. You can tell the kitchen pours their heart into the details. Whether it's a seared duck breast with a cherry reduction or a tenderloin that melts in your mouth, every bite is packed with flavor and finesse. The wine pairings are top-tier — often featuring unique selections you won't find at your average wine bar. Their sommelier's choices elevate each course and open your palate in new ways. It's not just dinner — it's a celebration of food, wine, and craft. The service? Impeccable. Warm, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. You feel like a regular even if it's your first time. If you're looking for a weekly treat, a romantic evening, or a food-and-wine lover's escape, Prairie Star's Wine & Dine dinners are an absolute must. Reservations are a smart move — this hidden gem won't stay hidden for long.

Beautiful view of the Sandia Mountains. Excellent grapefruit martini. Seared Ahi tuna special was superb. Peach and blackberry cobbler with ice cream was delicious. Service was delightful.

Another delicious meal and delightful evening. We had the wine and dine special, all three courses were amazing. Ronda was very friendly and attentive, as always. Our favorite restaurant by far!

The Wednesday/Thursday price fix for two is a bargain. Three courses plus a bottle of ( drinkable) wine for $89. Food was delicious, we were seated near a window and could view the nearby landscape. Service was attentive. Make a reservation as many take advantage of this great special! I wish I lived closer.

It was the perfect place for our anniversary/birthday dinner. Each person we met was friendly from the number of servers to management. Francesca was attentive and professional. We loved the food and ordered the special dinners that were described.. Beef Bourguignon and the Salmon with Lobster Risotto. All was perfect!

I came with my husband and two friends, my husband got the lamb loin and we got the ribeye steaks. My husband gave me a bite of his lamb loin, which contained a bones splitter that almost cut my throat, the next bite he took also had a bone, the rest of the loins did not. The menu never said they had bones or the possibility of a bone. That was at the beginning our meal which made me anxious to eat my steak, chewing ever bite slowly worrying about more bones, even though it was a different meat.

Mostly excellent as usual. Only shortcoming was the steak. Way too much fat and gristle, but the meaty part was good.

The service is excellent at Prairie star restaurant. We did the wine and dine meal, which is offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays and upgraded the wine. It was fantastic and we brought home leftovers.
