Chinese Palace Restaurant

I drive to Silver City at least once a week.
I've been looking forward to Chinese food and went to the Chinese Palace today there were a lot of cars in the parking lot so I was encouraged to get good food.

Unfortunately, it was horrible. I ordered curry chicken. I brought it home diced it up seasoned it reheated it on my stove top to make it edible.

I also ordered sweet and sour pork. The picture is included. It was deep fried tough pork with no sauce, fried rice which was brown with no flavor.

I also ordered egg rolls. They look like egg rolls however, they were steffed with cabbage. The egg rolls were the best tasting of all the food I ordered. I wouldn't order them again.

I also paid $2 for homemade hot mustard which was actually colored cornstarch which tasted like something. It was not hot, it was not mustard, ugh.

The service was fantastic. The gal that waited on me was so friendly and nice however, I would have given her a $10 tip if she had said food isn't good.

Also, the atmosphere was fantastic.

I do not eat out often and this is the reason why.

Ordered Kung Pao Shrimp with Fried Rice. Tasted absolutely nothing like Kung Pao anything. Plus the fried rice was absolutely nothing like typical Chinese fried rice.

I paid extra for chicken and shrimp and what I got was seemingly a smaller portion of both to make up a single serving.

Was happy they didn't charge me $2 for the hot/chilli sauce as it was the only thing that added any flavor to the dish

Will not be going back.

First time in Silver City and I wanted some Chinese food. After looking at the menu, I couldn’t decide what to get because it all sounded pretty good. The waitress was WONDERFUL and I trusted her to surprise me. She came out with the sumbgum chow mein + sweet and sour pork and let me tell you… I left no trace. Friendly staff, wonderful food. 10/10 recommend!

How this place has 4.2 stars on Google reviews absolutely baffles my mind. This restaurant, without a single doubt in my mind is one of the worst Chinese restaurants on God's green earth. I ordered Lo Mein and I kid you not it was Italian Angel Hair Spaghetti with Vegetable and chicken slop poured on top. Not even remotely the correct ingredients in the dish. The fried Rice was (God's honest truth) Steamed rice with soy sauce poured into it it. The fried wontons, chicken and shrimp tasted like flavorless, way overcooked crunchy greese wedges from hell. The Mongolian beef tasted like goopy grape jelly and chili sauce mixed with a spoon.

The only decent thing about this place was the waitress was a nice sweet lady.

I am not exaggerating. This place is by far the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted and it's not even close. I didn't know Chinese food could be butchered so badly. Whoever is cooking that food has zero idea how to cook Chinese, zero clue

We were visiting Silver City as tourists and decided to try Chinese Palace Restaurant. It was a great find! The food was delicious and tasted like authentic Chinese, not the usual Americanized stuff with too much sugar. Everything was fresh and well-seasoned. The broccoli beef was amazing and the curry chicken was phenomenal!

The owner was really nice and caring—she took time to chat with us and suggest some dishes. You can tell she’s an amazing cook. Good service and reasonable prices too. If you’re in town and want real Chinese food, this is the place. Definitely recommend it!

Bland. Dead looking food. Exactly what you think from duct tape over the AC and an ancient camera by the register that obviously doesn't work anymore covered in dust, which would be totally excusable if the food was good as I have had good food in run down places, but sadly the food just isn't good to anyone who likes flavor and large portions. The waitress was nice though and had a good personality. But you goto a restaurant to eat, that should be the main focus. It's silver city so I feel bad being negative as it's a small town, these people are trying and I shouldn't have high expectations but It was not good tasting food for anyone under 55. Chinese food craves msg. If you're food has no flavor and is grey, it's not very appealing to be a repeat customer when the taste matches the appearance.

Again...we had a great server and she was very attentive but the small portions and lack of flavor is disappointing.

Sad portion, price in menu isn't what you pay. I'm very sad I just spent $12+ on this and almost threw it out. Also who serves someone raw tofu?! Sometimes I get not deep frying it but this never touched a wok.

My launch was awesome. And the server/owner just asked awesome. She's always pleasant. Poor girl is always running resting her customers with a smile!

Actually has real Chinese meals. Kung Pao Chicken was very good. Service wasn't great, But not because of the server. The crowd was too big for just one server.

I didn’t necessarily have high expectations but I found the food to be very disappointing. I ordered the tofu vegetable, vegetable fried rice, and vegetable egg foo young. All three were bland and couldn’t be salvaged with just soy sauce.

Always hot fresh!

Very good choices of dishes... servers are very good,at times they need more than one server..... always a good experience, yummy 😋
