Great small museum that has interesting photos and items from the history of the area, with lots of interesting info. It's not a huge museum so it's a nice stop while walking around town without tiring you out. There is a scavenger hunt activity for kids. A cute gift shop. Be sure to go to the top floor if you can, the view is great. There's also a nice little area to sit and enjoy the weather, and even more pictures with captions, and a great mural, on the left...
The staff is enthusiastic and and knowledgeable, the displays are interesting and informative and the old mansion in which the museum is housed gives a unique view of the good life in old Silver City. A pleasant experience which is available for free but which accepts donations. We gladly made one.
Lovely little museum in the historic area of Silver Springs. Lots of information about ecology, history, politics, and everything else having to do with the settlement and history of the town. The people who work there were absolutely lovely. I got a lot of questions answered. The gift shop is also very nice. To the right of the entrance slightly behind the house there’s a lovely little garden where you can sit and enjoy the day.
