Love this place. The people there are so kind. Try the green chile apple pie!
Simple good food
Stopped off for a pee and a cup of coffee, but ended up staying for some pie and margaritas.
The owners were super friendly and great conversationalists. And the green chilli apple pie was amazing.
Food is sicking, Staff very rude , and is not where to waste your money. Serving meat not inspected by USDA.
This has to be, hands down, one of the best burgers with Cole slaw I have ever had! Apparently the owner of the restaurant raises the cattle she uses for the burgers. Phenomenal, you can absolutely taste the difference! Completely unexpected as it’s just a little place you could almost miss on the way to the hot spring. Sweet ladies working the restaurant as well! This is a MUST for anyone driving through.
Great stop off spot for amazing lunch. Had one of the best hamburgers of my life and absolutely the best fries I have ever had. Friend attentive staff kept the coffee mug full. Highly recommend.
What a place!!
We found this by accident due to the roadworks that caused us to stop and wait….never been thankful for roadworks before!! What a fabulous place….great food, green chile cheeseburger followed by green chile apple pie(take our word on the pie…it is superb!
Authentic building with a cool history and very welcoming staff.
Do not drive by this little gem!
I stop every time a pass by. They have amazing food, but the green chili pinon apple pie is what I stop for. Unique and delicious.
Debbie’s spot is very charming. We stopped for lunch today at The Chili Depot and the vibes are authentic New Mexican, filled with history and artwork. We had the Reuben and it was fantastic! Thank you Debbie and team for making us feel right at home.

Love that this place keeps kicking in their remote location with nothing else around! Driving to Chama from Taos I stopped to get a coffee but ended up getting a delicious bowl of elk stew to go with large chunks of carrots and a gravy base. Had to resist the piñon brownie. The staff is helpful and delightful and I’m happy to give them my money.
Debbie, the owner is as real as it gets and she works her butt off to feed everyone some great farm to table fixings!
After visiting the Rio Grande Gorge bridge, this was a lovely drive to make just up the road. Deb was awesome and my husband said his Reuben was one the best he’d ever had. As a vegetarian, I thoroughly enjoyed the Grill cheese sandwich decked out with green chile and avocado. Go visit! And stay for the pie!
We did a spontaneous stop on our road trip and bought the most delicious cherry pie. Homemade, amazing crust, dense with cherries. We recommend going by for pie!!!
We needed a bathroom stop on US 285, and after half an hour of nothing, we saw this place with a couple cars in the parking lot. We stopped planning to buy just a coffee (no small business wants you to use their bathrooms without buying at least something), but the pies looked amazing and the soup of the day was a creamy roasted zucchini soup, so we tried them too.
Service was fantastic. The waitress seemed genuinely delighted to see a family with a baby coming in, and spent a lot of time explaining the history of the green chili apple pie with pinons (pine nuts) from the local trees. I've never tasted apple pie with green chili before, but the chili taste was just the right amount of background hint to be interesting but not overpowering. All in all this place was a hidden gem!
Very friendly staff!
