We had smoothies and oatcake cookies both excellent! Thanks Fran
Beautiful little deli nestled in the town of Amherst. We had the grilled cheese sandwich, the club sandwich, the GF peanut butter cookie and brownie. All very delicious. They had the most yummiest berry smoothie and replaced the fruit juice with oat milk and added the chia seeds and protein powder - omg it was so good. The staff were welcoming and kind and friendly - lovely food made by lovely people. Thank you for making it a great experience during our stay.

Had to stop in Amherst Nova Scotia and came across this eatery. I’m so glad we did! Food was tasty and staff & owner(?) were delightful. Really enjoyed our conversation comparing our own Amhersts. Would love to come back if we are ever in the area.
So disappointed. Purposefully planned a stop for this location. Arrive and its CLOSED on a Saturday. I've submitted a change in hours. No way should a establishment be closed on a Saturday.
Edit: Modifying review to 4 stars bc the owner responded promptly and took responsibility for the error. That means something in today's world.
Best food in Amherst, hands down!

Wonderful local, non chain restaurant serving fresh homemade food. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is cozy and a bit quirky, but totally enjoyable. Hint, if the weather is nice, there are a number of picnic tables around the corner.

Fantastic! Chickpea Buffalo wrap, and the oak cake.
They have lots of vegan and gluten-free options and they are very up on dietary restrictions. They are lgbtq and trans-friendly. The service was amazing, the environment was very cozy and they have some communal seating areas where we met a very nice man.
Highly recommend this spot. Their food is amazing. All around fantastic experience

With the food it would seem they are trying too hard. Simple is better. Had a mushroom soup. Had to Had every vegetable in the kitchen in it. Was more of a stew then soup. I have never had a tasteless grilled cheese until today. Not sure how you have zero flavor in a grilled cheese but this place did it. The bench seats make it difficult to get in and out.
Id avoid at all cost.

THE place in Amherst for lunch. Good coffee, great portions. Always have amazing daily specials. Definitely worth pulling off the highway for if you’re just passing through!
Vegetarian options: The soup of the day was a Cajun black bean chilli. So good!
Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten friendly and vegetarian options.
