I visit here a few times in the week that I am back in Amherst. Staff are very friendly. Service is terrific. I had various meals over the years and all have been good. A light meal of the small Caesar Salad and order of garlic bread was a perfect size. Mushroom caps filled with lobster/crab were great. The lobster roll is always a must have, for me. Great atmosphere. I'll be back again next trip.
Very friendly staff, great food and wonderful service. A very pleasant visit.
First time here, hidden gem. 6 of us we had varied dishes, smoked meat, seafood chowder, fish and chips, subed garlic mashed potatoes. Only disappointment was the garlic mashed could have been zapped before serving, they were not as hot as we would like. If in the Amherst area or passing by at meal time you won't go wrong. Good job Duncan's.
My friend and I went to Duncan’s last night. I’ve been there many times and the meals were good to excellent. However, last night our burgers were burnt to a crisp and the fries were soggy as if fried in oil that was not hot enough. The saving grace was our server was fine. I don’t eat out that often and resent spending money on food that’s poor.
Excellent spot. Had the Scallop done with side of Cesar salad, perfectly grilled! Highly recommend returning
Cool pub.
Perfect place to go after after church! It was delicious and our waitress was super nice!

Duncan's is not knock your socks off good but it's decent pub fare when you've got a hankering. My advice is to keep an eye on specials, and entree items like steak, fish, and scallops if you want the dishes that they really shine with. What sets Duncan's apart is its serving staff. We had the sweetest server who was attentive, thorough, and made me want to go back just for her. It's the kind of service that makes you feel like you're the only table in the place even when it's full to bursting. Recommend for sure.

Delicious food. The service was amazing. Fast. We couldn’t get a seat because the entire restaurant was booked! That in itself says a lot. She did offer a seat at the “back”. Which was kind. A little chilly in October as the door was opening and closing. However the food well made up for it. And the price was very fair. I’d go back. Lesson learned. I’d make a reservation. ?

Stopped by for dinner with wife and 2 teen kids on way to Halifax. 3km or so off the highway. Very comfortable atmosphere and great food. Potatoe skins, fish and chips, burger and artichoke dip all received rave reviews. Excellent random choice that we did not regret.

Kid-friendliness: Not the best for kids should have a kids menu.

We have been to Duncan’s a few times, it has been our place to stop. Decent food and a nice atmosphere inside. On this stop we ordered our drinks at the bar and went outside. Older lady was very curt and not friendly at all. When the server came she told us there was a hockey team on the way and there would probably be a wait for food, completely understandable and we appreciated her telling us..15 minutes later we still did not have our drinks..there was nobody there, no hockey team and a few other customers. We checked and the drinks were not made so we left. Really unfortunate and completely avoidable but, I am doubtful we will be back
Good food was very busy, and there were not many servers on, so everything was a wait. Comfortable seating and nice atmosphere, so did not mind the wait. Very relaxing.

I am staying in Amherst for work, and staying at a hotel so I asked the front desk where I should go eat. She recommended Duncan's so I placed an order on the phone for pick up. I ordered a chicken pesto wrap with no onions (allergic) and a Cesar salad. When I got back to my hotel with my food, I had onions on my wrap, meaning I can't eat my supper now, and there was no fork or any cutlery in the bag, so I literally just ate Cesar salad with my hands. The salad was good but disappointed I just paid and TIPPED for a meal I can't even eat. I'm too tired from work to bother to get in my car and travel back to the restaurant again to rectify things. Any travellers that order here I would recommend checking your food before leaving the rest parking lot to ensure accuracy. Pretty disappointed.
We found this place while traveling in Nova scotia. If this was local to our home, I would go back often. The service and food was very good and we really liked the pub feel that we don't see at home in Texas.
